About this mod

Have you ever felt that the "cities" of Skyrim could barely pass for villages? Whiterun in particular feels far too small to be crowned the title of city. Whiterun is at the center of the province making it the trading capital of Skyrim. So it should surely be much larger than it currently is. This mod aims to fix this by doubling the size

Overview

I've always felt that the cities of Skyrim are far to small to be named cities. Whiterun is no exception to this and this particular city is at the center of Skyrim making it the trading capital of the province. Whiterun is also the first city the player is likely to visit. Therefore we should be treated to a much larger city to begin our journey. With this mod installed Whiterun will almost double in size by expanding the northeastern region of the city. Almost all additions have been added outside of Whiterun in an area normally overlooked by other modders to preserve as much compatibility as possible. You'll find this newly added area next to the Battle-Born farm outside of Whiterun. To enter or leave the city from the new area you'll find a new gate next to Jorrvaskr set in an area that is hopefully untouched by most other Whiterun Expansion mods.

What the mod adds

  • Two New Store Merchants open 24/7

  • Three New Stall Merchants

  • Two New Spells Sold by a Merchant named Propel and Mass Frenzy

  • A Blacksmith

  • 14 New Buidlings in total that all have interiors

  • A mine

  • Many new NPCs

Compatibility

This mod was made with compatibility in mind so I chose areas where some other modders haven't made any changes with very minimal changes made to the interior of the city. Any mods that do happen to make changes to the same exterior cells should be avoided if you want to use this mod since they may be buried by my mod. But who would want a bunch of buildings clipping into each other anyway? Have a look at the images if you're not sure which mods are compatible. Or you can look in the posts section where many players have provided helpful reports of compatibility issues. If a mod only has minor compatibility issues with mine they can be easily fixed with the disable command in the console. I use it myself a few times to fix compatibility issues in my heavily modded game.

Compatible Mods that I recommend

These are mods that I use along with my own mod that are completely compatible and that I absolutely recommend.

Dawn of Whiterun by BluePianoTwo

This mod makes nice settle changes to the interior of Whiterun and adds many new merchants that fit with my merchants very well.

Immersive Settlements by Pymous or Expanded Towns and Cities by missjennabee

These two mods make the same changes to the exterior of Whiterun since Pymous's mod was later implemented into missjennabee's Expanded Towns and Cities mod so either of these two will do. These mods achieve the same thing my mod does by adding a massive expansion on to Whiterun including brand new merchants and it looks great. And it is completely compatible and blends with my mod well. With this mod installed alongside my mod you'll have a Whiterun that actually feels like a city.

Permission

Do whatever you want with this mod. All I want in return is a little credit by letting them know I'm the original author. And there is no need to ask me but I wouldn't mind if you let me know.

   This includes:
  • Translations
  • Bug Fixes
  • Implementing it in your own mod
  • Uploading it somewhere else
  • Or whatever else you can think of

Known Issues

The NPCs might have trouble performing the simple task of walking despite my best efforts. I've redone the navmesh manually and looked over it several times so I'd like to think this is the game's fault since we all know Skyrim isn't perfect. But if it is my fault, shame on me. If you find any other issues, post them here and maybe somebody will do something about them which will probably have to be me.

Requirements

All you need is a legitimate Skyrim and the latest patch.
