Omen, the Black Cat
Find him in Riverwood Sleeping Giant Inn. He is sometimes hiding in one of the rooms.
His height is 1.07 so he is somewhat taller than most NPCs.
His combat style is spellsword.
I made an update so you no longer need Amazing Follower Tweaks to work properly yet it is still recommended.
His Backstory
Let me tell you a story about Omen, the Black Cat of Elsweyr.
He was abandoned as a young cub by his parents for they were fleeing as their hometown was being attacked by marauders and they hoped that Omen would be safe. His parents planned to return to him once they had lost the attackers, however as they fled the marauders shot them with arrows, not killing them they were then dragged away and taken into slavery.
Omen who was now bundled up was on his own, defenseless and vulnerable to any predator that would come near to him. However out of sheer luck a peddler was passing by to the village (not knowing that the village has been ransacked) and stumbled upon the young Omen. Picking him up he brought him back to the village to find that it had been looted and sacked the peddler decided to look after Omen until his proper parents could be found.
As the years went by Omen was taught the ways of being a merchant from his adoptive father and would help with the negotiations of prices. It was then during one transaction that Omen suddenly discovered the need to defend himself as the other trader had turned hostile and had no intention of trading with him but instead stealing his goods. It was during this encounter that he found that he could fight exceptionally well, it was during this he found a note on one of the corpses that gave light on his own parent's whereabouts.
He took this note to his adoptive father and he agreed that Omen needed to try and find his real parents. Following the note he came across the marauders camp where he discovered that they were also trafficking people the sight disgusted him but seeing the compound's fortifications he knew he wouldn't be able to take it on himself. Using the contacts his father knew and pulling strings he had made with other merchants and groups he was able to equip and lead a small mercenary group himself.
Omen knew that knocking down the front door would be foolish so taking a small team they infiltrated taking out the guards one by one. The times he had traveled during the knight with his adoptive father had its uses for he had honed his hearing to pick up the slightest of movements in the dark and once locked on he dispatched those who wandered by.
As he reached the holding pens he soon found that the people had been moved and the area was extremely quiet, rather too quiet for what it should have been. Suddenly from out of the darkness arrows came whistling by, with no cover Omen ran straight for the way he came in to escape.......
How he escaped you say? Some say he fought tooth and claw all the way out slaughtering all who came in his path. The others? Well they think his team were the ones who betrayed him and and he knew that so he used the darkness to slip back out vowing his vengeance.
The story also claims that those who are disloyal around him are quickly vanquished and never seen again. This is probably why when you see him the people keep their distance, for Omen himself is a poor omen to have near you.
You want him to join you in your adventures? Then you are either as crazy as a drunken Netch or braver than Talos.........*ahem*............I mean Ysgramor (whispers) Don't want any of those Elves having words with us now do we? Now speaking of drunken netches let us go and get some more mead.
