Changelogs
EDIT 3 - Later on 16/Jun/2016: I have gotten permission from Frankfamily to pick up this mod again. (Cheers, by the way!) So now I just gotta get the CK to behave, and I'll be good to go.

EDIT 2 - 16/Jun/2016: For anyone who stumbles upon this mod, or for anyone who cares, I Might be returning to modding, provided I can be bothered and I can get the CK working again. If I do, I will be remaking these weapons and picking up this project again using what I have taught myself in Blender while I was gone (Baked Normals, Procedural Textures, yada yada yada). If I don't, or if Frankfamily has something planned for them, you can disregard this message.

EDIT: I will not be returning to modding for the foreseeable future, due to my current occupation of Indie Game development, and the four or so projects occupying my every waking hour. As such, I hereby bestow all rights to my Variants resource mod unto Philipix99, seemingly my most loyal follower, and the only person who kept me from packing up modding long before now, and all rights to my other mod unto Frankfamily, because He probably knows what to do with them best.

It's been a good Run, with its ups and downs, and about eight hundred hours clocked on the creation kit, but it is at an end
Cheers to everyone who made it bearable

Peace!

EliteTJB98's Swords

Adds 4 new* swords to the World of Skyrim. 2 More added with each new full version

Notice: So many views, so few downloads... What am I doing wrong? I'm aware of several bugs/glitches, but Please spend about 4 minutes of your life and leave a comment, letting me know why you didn't download my mod, and any constructive criticism you may have for it. it helps me tremendously. Cheers
(Excluding comments that are purposefully and unnecessarily hateful, which damages my confidence and means I am less likely to get work done for the few who actually appreciate my mod. Don't bother if that's what your going do, because you will be ignored, and likely ruin it for others.)

Features

  • Brand new meshes and Textures 100% by Me
  • Placed in pre-existing locations to prevent cluttered world maps
  • All Weapons Included Should be Temperable

Lore

Dafolak:

A Polished Longsword, wrought of ancient "sentinel steel"**, whose name roughly translates to "Doom of the Underworld" in the Dragons Tongue. It has some how fallen into the possession of the Bandits located at Cracked Tusk Keep in Falkreath hold. It was forged in the Third Era by some long forgotten smith, but despite it's age, it is still as sharp as Forged Ebony.

Dafolak once had a brother blade, Grahmindok, or "Battle Knowledge". It currently Resides somewhere within the Bilegulch Mine Compound

Strunmah:

A Cyrodillic-esque Steel Greatsword which once belonged to a Collovian-Nord adventurer called Ragbulf. It is thought to reside is the Giant Encampment at Secunda's Kiss, in whiterun Hold. His Travelling Companion, an Argonian by the name of Runs-and-Hides, returned to whiterun claiming that a giant had taken Ragbulf by the arms and ripped him apart. Runs-and-Hides was executed by the Whiterun Guards for Murder.

Strunmah was the name given to the blade by Ragbulf, and means "Mountain" in Dragon-tongue. However, the name is misleading, as the blade is far more effective at cleaving men and mer in twain than a colossal hunk of rock and ice.

Pentaar:

An Odd Weapon; it is an Executioner's Sword, Hailing from the Province of High-Rock. In High-Rock, Executioner's Swords are favored over Headsman's Axes in Richer cities. Thought to originate in the city of Jehanna, it was stolen by the Nords during the War of the Bend'r-mahk in 3E 397, and was given its name, "Punishment" in the Dragon Language Shortly Thereafter.

It now resides in Skyrim, Under the watchful gaze of the Lady Stone.

Grahmindok:

Brother Blade to Dafolak, Grahmindok was forged shortly before the Latter blade, in the 3rd Era, by the same smith, and this reflects in their similar appearance. Both are on par in terms of Weight and effectiveness, despite Grahmindok being forged normal steel, as oppose to Dafolak being forged of Sentinel Steel. It has fallen into the possession of the bandits located at Bilegulch mine, wishing to keep it from their Orcish rivals at Cracked Tusk Keep, who are in possession of the twinned sword.

Installation

No Different to any other mod. Just drag and Drop the "Data" file into your Skyrim directory, activate the ESP, and Play

Known Bugs

  • Dafolak's Damascus Pattern is Somewhat Hard to notice under some lighting conditions.
  • A quite noticeable Seam has appeared on Dafolak, (Not visible on screenshots) halfway up the blade. This is where the UV splits, and I'm working on a way of fixing this. Bear with me, as I am likely going to have to remake the texture entirely, unless someone can offer a solution (Hint, Hint)
  • Strunmah is held a wrong, and floats a bit away from the player's back when sheathed. (Fixed in Version 2) Fixed
  • Strunmah, Pentaar and Grahmindok has Odd spots is places that look weird, causing it to either look "rumpled" near the crossguard, or have odd colour splotches (possible normal error)
  • None of the Swords have custom scabbards (yet) Fixed
  • Weapons seem to Be too shiny while in Outside areas, but fine inside.
  • Some Weapons Don't have a BloodEdge Layer in Nifskope, so won't appear bloody when Used. Fixed
  • "Extreme Shading" Causes a stupidly large shadow near sharp edges. Kindly Pointed out by Frankfamily, who also suggested a (n effective) solution. Fixed

I'll try and fix these at a later date.

FAQ

Q.
Will you add any Axes/Maces/Hammers/Spears/anything not a sword?

A.
Read the Title, then ask me again... (Sarcasm, Don't ask, you won't get an answer)

Q. When Will you add more Swords?

A. When I Make More Swords.

Sorry, this mod is no longer supported or Updated. I will no longer answer questions or update it.

Q. Can You make <Insert Idea Here>?

A. If it is a brand New Idea (Not from some movie, book, etc) AND a Sword***, maybe, if I Like the Idea or have nothing better to do. If it is an Idea from somewhere else (Eg. "Your favourite Anime" seems to be a running theme on the nexus...), Not a Sword, a Katana (I Don't Like Katanas) or Not Functional Looking, Your in the Wrong Place.

Sorry, this mod is no longer supported or Updated. I will no longer answer questions or update it.

Q.
OMG WHY U NO LIEK KATANAS?! THEY ARE WAY BETTER THAN ANY OTHA SWORDZ OMG YO SUX LOL HAX, etc, etc.

A.
Not a Question, but Here is an Answer. Go Spam Someone Else, I Don't Like Katanas the Same way that you don't like Proper Grammar. I Could go into massive detail why I Don't like Katanas, Tantos, Nodachi, Etc, But I won't****.

Q.
I'm at the location, but I can't find the Sword.

A.
Items can sometime go for a walk. If that happens, good luck finding the blighters. Quickest fix is to Open up the Console and type "player.coc 0ETJBswords" without the ""s and find the chest called "Swords", and I Will fix it ASAP. If that doesn't work, you've installed the Mod wrong.

Q. I am 100% certain I Have installed the mod right, and still nothing.

A. Answer any questions I pose to you about the issue to the best of your abilities. These will help me locate the problem further. I will release a fix for the issue at the earliest convenient time.

Sorry, this mod is no longer supported or Updated. I will no longer answer questions or update it.

Q.
I Saw Someone else Using your Models and/or claiming them as their own and/or making money from them

A. Send me the web address via private messages while I just go grab my greatsword...

Embedded Footnotes (found as *s above)

* One sword is a re-upload of Dafolak: Reforged (Also by Me) but I am only going to update and work on this version, as it is easier to keep all the swords I'll be adding under one ESP and on one Nexus Page.

** "Sentinel Steel" is a name I recently theorised would be an appropriate name for Damascus steel in the Elder-scrolls universe. Damascus is a city in the Middle East, and as such, does not exist in Elder scrolls lore. Simmilar to how damascus is called "Valyrian Steel" in the " A Song of Ice and Fire" and "Game of thrones" Universe. Sentinel is a city in hammerfell, and I decided it sounded the best when lumped with steel. Other top contenders were "Dragonstar steel" and "Skaven Steel", the former didn't roll off the tongue as well as sentinel, and skaven reminds me too much of the rat folk from warhammer. Would you want to wield "Rat-Steel"? I wouldn't...

*** A sword (in my eyes, anyhow) is either a single or Double edged weapon consisting of at least the following: a (normally metal) blade and a grip, possible additions include: scabbards, Crossguards, Pommels, Parry Hooks, Fullers, etc. Sizes are anywhere between an Arms length and a man's shoulder height. Anything smaller is a lethal toothpick and anything bigger is a hernia waiting to happen, and both I will not create, unless held at gunpoint (Not an Invitation...) I may deviate from these measurements very slightly if it is necessary for one reason or another, but by no more than about a hands-length and I won't make a habit of it. Also, in width, my minimum would be about 3/4ths of a thumb and max would be 5 thumbs. (Yes, I measure like that in real life too, I'm old fashioned like that)

**** DISCLAIMER: (And Rant...) I Have absolutely no problem with Japanese Culture/People/Customs/etc, quite the opposite, I admire the overall friendliness and honourable mindset of the Japanese, But I Do have a problem with people trying to tell me what to like and what not to like, and myths that become so widespread, it is apparently "fact". (Begin Rant) The reason behind me not liking Katanas, and any other related Weaponry is that they have become so popular, and the myths surrounding them have become so widespread, that it eclipses every other type of sword (of which I am the proud owner of 2, not including Training swords), and that I Have been constantly bombarded with "facts" about how katanas can slice through other swords, cut through stone, penetrate steel plate better than any other sword, and many more to that effect. I get quite tired of having to Disprove these myths to the Naïve believing them, and the imbeciles who spread them, and I have no wish to become either of these things by breathing further life into such rumours. Also, (as pointed out by frankfamily) me using incorrect grammar/spellings/etc is not how I view people who like Katanas. It was a two-way effect I was aiming for. Primarily for comedic purposes, but it was also to highlight how moronic the of people on the interwebs can be. More Specifically, those who Have nothing better to do with their lives than flame people for every little, insignificant thing that very likely has no impact on them in the slightest, benefiting them or any other party involved other than the perverse amusement found in causing annoyance to their fellow human beings. (Do Internet trolls even count as humans?). (End Rant). Oops. Looks like I went into massive detail anyway :3

Also, please don't lecture me on anything swords or metals am a blade fanatic (I prefer swords, but have a fair few knives in my hoard) and hobbyist Bladesmith in the real world, and have had at least some experience (at least 3 years as of 2015) working with hot metal (mostly normal steels, but a couple of times with brass, copper and even pattern welded "Damascus" steel), so any problems on a material front is caused by my relative inexperience in modelling, texturing, etc. (Not trying to sound big or clever about it, just stating a fact.)
