Blood Oil is a mod that changes souls gems into Blood oil, Blood oil is not lore friendly.

 This mod addeds blood oil a soul gem replacement and changes spell tomes to spell kits, there is a few books on blood oil and a dungeon near riverwood and a small shack near helgen.

Blood oil lore: Blood oil was made made by a vampire trying to enrich blood with magical elements, the first batches known as black blood oil as they impure and can corrupt anyone exposed too it. The corruption called Blight and can be cured like any illness, many necromancers use black blood oil so they are infected. There have been a few necromancers who tried transport some around skyrim but either from bandits or animals attacks never reached there bases and barrels found side of some roads broken with the oil spilled onto the ground. Many animals become infected, rats mostly but larger animals
have become infected as well. Black blood oil also effects the dead reanimating them.
