Update v1.2, May 12th 2015
  • Added 3 new weapons: Empty Ale\Mead bottles, Hoes, and Large Decorative Dwemer Struts.
  • Fixed Dwemer Gyro texture.
  • Tweaked certain weapons and made their sounds more fitting.
  • Since hoes are a static prop and not a misc item in the game, I made a new hoe misc item specifically for this mod. There are a few scattered by the stables\farms outside of whiterun, and you can also buy them from the blacksmith in Riften and random vendors.

Update v1.1, May 7th 2015

  • Made random bandits\citizens\bards\etc use these weapons
  • Made Silver Plate throwable, with an option to disable in config
  • Renamed several items in order to more easily tell them apart
  • Made all available weapons for sale from the blacksmith in Riften
  • Added unique exposive throwable plate in the Whiterun Jarl's Servant's quarters
  • Made it so that players can pick up items they were previously unable to, such as dwarven urns and ship oars

General Info:

This mod makes almost every misc. item that's not unique or important into a weapon. Basically, almost anything that you can pick up that falls into the miscellaneous category can be used to open a big ol' can of whoopass on your enemies!

It works by using a script that detects when you pick up a misc. object and replacing that object with a weapon version of it. So it doesn't actually replace anything in the world, but it works as if it did.

If you need one of the weapons to be in its non-weapon form again for whatever reason, whether it be crafting or for a quest, you can easily disable the mod with the item "AnyWeaponMod Config". Then, whenever you drop any of the weapons you have, they'll be turned back into their regular misc. item form.

All of the weapons included in this mod are improvable with a grindstone.

Also, there are 4 unique enchanted weapon variants, they are as follows:

Grave Robber - One handed shovel with Soul Trap and Fire Damage. Located in Windhelm Hall of the Dead.
Witch's Secret - Broom with Fire, Shock, and Frost Damage. Located in Hag's End.
Revenge - A silver plate that deals Frost Damage. Located in the Whiterun Jarl's Quarters.
The Punisher - A ladle that does paralysis damage. Located in Four Shields Tavern.

Known issues:
  • The collision on the weapon models is kind of weird when you drop them into the world after the first time you pick them up, or if an enemy drops them. A workaround is to temporarily disable the mod from the AnyWeaponMod config item and then drop the weapon you want, because it will drop the item as its original object instead of the weapon form, and none of the original models or their collision have been altered.
  • You can get empty wine bottles as weapons by drinking wine or alto wine, but you can't have more than one in your inventory at a time.

Future plans:
I plan on adding even more weapons, perhaps going outside the scope of the misc. items category. I'm also going to fix any bugs or problems with models, as well as clean up the code in general. I also plan to give some NPCs these weapons where it would fit (like farmers having farm tools as weapons, etc). I want to add custom sound effects to the drum and the flute as well. The lute already has special sound effects, and I think it would be interesting if the other instruments did too.

Compatibility:
This mod should be compatible with pretty much everything since it doesn't change anything already in the game. It renames some of the original misc. items though, so if you have another mod that changes them you should probably load this one before it. Also, the unique weapons probably won't spawn if you have anything else that edits the cells they're in. For optimal compatibility, you should probably load this mod before most others, because other mods probably won't break this mod if they happen to change anything it changes.

If you're wondering what happened to UCD, I sort of abandoned it because it was way too time consuming. Since I'm getting back into modding again, I might pick it back up, but I lost the source code to it so I'd have to remake it from scratch.
