While there have been many mods that drop starting equipment into Helgen Keep, they usually just have a chest full of the equipment sitting somewhere.  I thought it would be "immersive/lore-friendly" if you were to take the equipment from its previous owners.  So, I added the following (dead) characters to Helgen Keep:  (slight *SPOILERS* if you've never played before)

Barnan the mage:
I replaced the mage in the torture chamber with Barnan, a Breton.  He is equipped with Novice Robes (1 for each school of magic), a Novice Hood, Ring of Recharging, Necklace of Minor Magicka, several assorted spell tomes, a few ingredients, & an assortment of potions and scrolls.

Aranga the thief:
Aranga, a Bosmer, was searching for Barnan.  She was climbing down a shaft into the caves when her rope broke and she fell to her death.  She is wearing a complete set of Thieves Guild armor, a ring and necklace of Minor Sneaking, a hunting bow and steel arrows, glass dagger of Stunning,  an assortment of potions and poisons, some lockpicks, & a handful of gems.

Raddin the warrior:
Raddin, a Nord, was also searching for Barnan.  While Aranga went searching for a way to sneak in, Raddin just went in the main cave entrance.  Unfortunately, he ran into a critter he couldn't quite handle.  He has a full set of steel armor, steel sword and shield, long bow and arrows, a few potions and poisons, & some lockpicks.  He also left his horse waiting outside the cave.

Installation:

Install automagically with the mod manager of your choice, or simply drop the 2 files (.bsa and .esp) into your Skyrim/Data folder, and check the mod in the Skyrim Launcher/Data Files.

Uninstallation:

Uninstall automagically with the mod manager of your choice, or delete the 2 files (.bsa and .esp) from your Skyrim/Data folder.

Thanks to hellbiter88 for their mod Batch Files Galore which is where I got the equipment lists.
