Permissions and credits
Summary
  • This is a simple mod that adds the option to purchase East Empire Company Stock from company representatives and sell them to willing buyers for profit. The price of the shares fluctuates over time but will slowly gain value over time. You can also impact the value of the stocks with actions that affect the business of the East Empire Company.

Gameplay Details
  • Shares of East Empire Trading Company stock can be bought and sold at EETC representatives such as Orthus Endario and Vittora Vici.
  • You can also sell your shares to general goods merchants at a price dependent on your Speech skill.
  • The stock price fluctuate in a predetermined way. You will get a specific price at a specific time. No save scumming for different prices.
  • On average, the stock price rises over time. So you can generally earn an interest if you are mindful of the price volatility.
  • Certain actions in game will have a positive or negative effect on the business of the company, and thus will impact the stock price.
  • You will not know the up-to-date market value of the stocks unless you talk to a merchant or the EETC representatives.

Notes
  • This is no way representative of how stocks work in real life. Just a different activity to earn money in Skyrim.
  • East Empire Company does not issue shareholders dividend.
  • The average rate of return over time on these are absurdly good compared to real stocks. I don't expect players to wait years of in-game time for slow growth.
  • Your investment will not affect the East Empire Company. They will not leverage the extra funds in anyway to grow their business.
  • Buying and selling large amounts of shares will not affect their price. Skyrim does not have supply and demand or market forces.

Technical Details
  • This mod runs scripts only when necessary. There are no periodic update scripts. It will only run the price scripts when you enter conversation or barter menu to buy and sell stocks. There should be minimal script lag.
  • Okay to uninstall and reinstall at anytime.
  • Does not alter any vanilla Skyrim forms or references, only refers to them. There should be no conflicts unless another mod removes things from Skyrim.esm, which is bad practice from the mod maker.
  • Quests might not influence stock prices properly if the quests or important references are swapped out entirely by another mod. Watch out for mods that replace Ulfric Stormcloak, General Tullius, MS10, DB05, or DB11 entirely. The mod will work properly otherwise.

Installation
  • Requires SKSE.
  • Install/Uninstall with your mod manager of choice.
  • Due to a bug with Skyrim, you need to follow these steps to see the new dialog options immediately:

  • Install the mod.
  • Launch Skyrim and load a game.
  • Save your game.
  • Load the save you just made.

Let me know in the comments if you have issues or suggestions with the mod. I will make fixes and possibly update with features.
