About this mod

A remake of my old god mod.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
I'll admit, I'm no great modder like Arthmoor and AlexanderJVelicky, and the others that will be credited later, and can't make awesome mods like theirs.  I can only do rather simple small mods and tweaks of other authors' mods.  However, one thing I like to think I am good at is some creative writing.  Those of you who downloaded the Legend of Zelda Remake and Addon TWEAKED mod for Oblivion might know what I am typing about.  So I decided to rework my old god mod and give it a story in the form of adding journals and letters telling a more detailed story of how these powerful relics came to be there... because... well, I like stories.

So, without further ado, here is the Protection of the Nine Redux!

Like the earlier version, this mod adds powerful relics that will elevate the Dragonborn to relatively god-like status.  (Yes, it's a cheat mod.)  However, unlike the old version, you won't be able to get almost all of them at one place.  I decided to spread them out a bit to make getting to them more challenging and fun.  To tell the story, however, there is a journal sitting among the candles at the front near the pillar where a Greybeard is usually praying or meditating in High Hrothgar.  This, however, tells only half the story.  Once you complete The Horn of Jurgen Windcaller quest and get the key to the chest nearby, you'll be able to get the Shield of the Nine, some other choice items which include a Ring of Detect Life that uses eyecue's Life Detection and Invisibility Armor v2 script, and the second journal with will lead you to most of the other relics, and tells the other half of the story.

Here's what you will be searching for:

Shield of the Nine:  The Nine's answer to Spellbreaker.  This shield uses Dreogan's Skyforge Shields light mesh and texture.  There's also a heavy mesh and texture in the mod for reasons to be explained in the ReadMe.

Amulet of the Nine:  A powerful amulet that heightens health, health regeneration, and armor rating.  Gives immunity to disease and poison and eliminates shout cooldown.  This amulet uses Saerileth's Gemling Queen Jewelry necklace mesh with Pfaffendrill's Jewels of the Nord - HD rings and necklaces texture.

Ring of the Nine:  A powerful ring that heightens physical strength, stamina, stamina regeneration, and the weapon speed of both hands.  And because this ring is blessed by Kynareth, wearing the ring will place a permanent version of the Voice of the Sky spell on you for as long as the ring is equipped.  This ring uses both the male and female versions of testiger2's DovahBling Jewelry Replacer -Rings and Necklaces emerald ring with Pfaffendrill's texture.

Circlet of the Nine:  A powerful circlet that heightens magicka, magicka regeneration, and spell resistance.  This circlet is a gold circlet with sapphires that uses Yuril's Better Circlets HQ V1o1 texture with the DarkOnix HQ circlet stones.  It also uses Ironman5000's Glowing Circlet Gems glow texture.

Blade of Akatosh:  The ultimate weapon, made from a bone of Akatosh himself and has a jewel made from his blood fitted into the hilt.  It damages the health and magicka of anyone the blade hits, and causes damage to undead, daedra, and even dragons.  It also ignores armor.  This sword is LeanWolf's Better-Shaped Weapons DragonBling Red dragonbone sword... with a tweak of my own.  I made a glow texture for the blade, and since it uses the same ruby jewel from the circlets, the aforementioned Glowing Circlet Gems glow texture also makes the ruby glow.

Now one thing I have to point out.  The meshes of the objects I have mentioned, except for the shields, have been renamed and relocated for a very specific reason.  I wanted them to be distinguishable from the vanilla jewelry in the game.  For example, the amulet and the ring use Pfaffendrill's textures, but I use Saerileth's Gamwich textures for the vanilla necklaces and rings.  This is because the Jewels of the Nord texture is meant (to me at least) to make the amulet and ring look more "divine" (the brighter gold color seems to make them look like they glow slightly) while the Gamwich textures look slightly rougher, giving the vanilla jewelry a more "mortal made" (but still pretty darn impressive) look... which is the effect I was going for.  The same goes for the circlet.  I use Yuril's texture just for this mod's circlet, while the vanilla circlets use the vanilla texture.  However, if you're already using the texture for your vanilla circlets, then that's what the glowing gems are for.  Also, something I have from the original mod is a recipe for forging a left handed emerald ring from duggelz's Left Hand Rings.  (Mainly because that was the mesh I used from the original mod, and I just forgot to remove it.)

For those who don't have the time to do a scavenger hunt, I've included a Readme file with should serve as a walkthrough.  However, I must ask that you please read the journals and letters in the mod.  I would like to read about what everyone thinks about the story I've included.  Thank you.

And BTW, for those who have installed this mod after completing the Main Quest, I've included instructions in the Readme on how to get the items without having to start a new game.  I didn't want to make the same mistake I made with the earlier version.

UPDATE: One of the enchantments of the ring wasn't working properly, so I fixed that.  And I moved two of the lockboxes to more logical locations in their respective places.  I also made the Ring of Detect Life a left-handed ring, so it can be used in conjunction with one of the others other than the Ring of the Nine.

NEW UPDATE: I made a slight change to the shield.  Rather than making a heavy version of it, you can take the original shield to the Skyforge and fortify it to make it into the heavy version.
