Welcome to the home for Lumen ENB!
Lumen (noun), def.- Latin word meaning "light."
Lumen ENB is a semi-realistic ENB preset with care for realistic colors, bright, clear days, dark nights and dungeons, with a touch of fantasy and cinematic flare! This is a high quality preset originally built upon the framework of Opethfeldt's Opethfeldt 7beta3 ENB

The Story
As a long time ENB user, I've run across presets of every style and shape out there. However, one that stuck with me all along as a favorite was Opethfeldt ENB. It has a realism and polish that few presets have. While this had originally intended to simply be a modernization project of Opethfeldt's preset, Lumen ENB began to take on a life of its own and, while staying true to the original feel Opethfeldt's ENB has, the style had changed sufficiently that it couldn't be called just an update anymore. I consider this a sort of spiritual successor to Opethfeldt's preset and, while his initial footprint is still there, it's definitely a creature of its own.

Nice Story, but really, why do I care?

Features:
  • Full ENB Weather Support for nearly all vanilla weathers with a custom weather mod made by Opethfeldt and modified by me which allow for a very unique, bright appearance during clear days, and beautiful sunrises and sunsets that you have never before seen in Skyrim.
  • High Quality SSAO and SSIL with easily customizable quality options.
  • Realistically dark nights and dungeons. Torch comes recommended but not required.
  • Working Nighteye via Enhanced Night Eye for ENB by scegielski. It's currently configured to my taste but full customization options are available via the in-game ENB GUI.
  • Day and night settings for interiors make dungeons and shops look quite different from each other. Dungeons are still dark, but you can still see quite clearly in your own house!
  • A visually immersive game experience. When there's a blizzard, it makes you feel cold. The sun is bright and refreshing. During a rain storm you'll naturally want to wait it out indoors.

Hodilton uploaded a video of my ENB! Thanks much, Hodilton!

This video is by Saran OhKay, good watch and showcase! Thanks OhKay!

System Requirements (more of suggestions really):
GTX 650 Ti/750 or Radeon HD 7790/R7 260X or higher recommended for Performance Version.
GTX 680/770 or Radeon R9 280/285/HD 7950 or higher recommended for standard version.
To see how your graphics card stacks up, check out this graphics card hierarchy chart from Tom's Hardware.
These are estimates and will also vary greatly depending on your overall mod setup.

Installation:
Just about the same as any ENB. Which is as follows:
  • Download the 0.292 ENB binary file from here. Just click on 0.292 and the download link will be an arrow at the bottom of the page.
  • From the Wrapper folder from within that archive, copy d3d9.dll and enbhost.exe to your SKYRIM directory, the folder where TESV.exe is.]
  • Now, download the main file from here, either the performance or full version according to your preference and copy all the files from the [PLACE IN SKYRIM FOLDER] exactly there, the same folder you placed the files from the previous step, where your TESV.exe file is.
  • Copy the contents of the [PLACE IN DATA FOLDER] into your data folder, where you place most mods OR add these files to the mod manager of your choice and install that way (this is the way I actually recommend as it's a much easier and clean install.)
  • Setup your enblocal.ini. Annotations in the file should help you set it up according to your system.
  • Turn off any hardware AA or AF, in the Skyrim Launcher or driver settings (Technically, anistropic filtering forced through drivers CAN be left on,  this is really based on your preference.)
  • Set up your Skyrimprefs.ini by adding or modifying the following lines: bFloatPointRenderTarget=1
    bTreesReceiveShadows=1
    bDrawLandShadows=1
    bShadowsOnGrass=1
  • Install the required mods and any recommended mods you like from the lists below. Remember, required means not optional. Install them!
  • Benefit.

Required Mods:
-The included LumenWeather.esp is 100% required or this will look very, very wrong.

-Relighting Skyrim by NovakDalton

-Enhanced Lighting for ENB (ELE) - LITE This, with RLS above, is now the official interior lighting mod of Lumen ENB. Use the main file, v0.94 or newer. Previous versions of ELE (downloaded from enbdev.com) are no longer supported.

And finally you will need Skyrim Particle Patch by Mindflux (These are the meshes and textures included in the main download. You're welcome.)

If you do not install these mods, or use different lighting mods, I can't guarantee your game will look right. ELFX, RLO or other interior lighting mods are not supported. I'm sorry if you like these mods, but the preset was not built with those in mind. They should technically work, as they won't crash your game, but will not produce the same visuals and in most cases will look worse if not outright wrong.

Recommended Mods:
These mods come highly recommended. I've used them all, and they go very well with this preset.
-Ethereal Clouds by Gamwich (I would actually really say this is required)
OR
-Dramatic Clouds by Anarin (one of these two is required)
True Storms - Thunder and Rain Redone by fadingsignal (VERY HIGHLY recommended. I don't know why you wouldn't use it. Compatibility patch in downloads)
-SG Female Textures Renewal by hellosanta
-SkySight - Ultra HD 4k and 2k - Male Textures by fadingsignal
-Skyrim Flora Overhaul 2.0 by vurt
-Unique Grass and Groundcovers by JoshEzzell
-Realistic Water Two by Isoku (HIGHLY recommended. This is the water mod I use) and use with...
-Watercolor for ENB and Realistic Water Two by paganmetalfan
-Ultimate HD Fire Effects by BuzzDee84 (also HIGHLY recommended)
-Vivid Landscapes All-in-One by Aron
-Static Mesh Improvement Mod - SMIM by Brumbek
-Most anything from CaBaL120 and the AMB team and Zerwas1 aka Pfuscher
-Wet and Cold by Isoku

Incompatible Mods:
-ANY and ALL weather mods are 100% INCOMPATIBLE with this preset including Climates of Tamriel and Pure Weathers. This preset comes with a specially designed weather mod in addition to ENB weather support so you aren't left with vanilla weathers.
-Revamped Exterior Fog has been reported to cause a great deal of issues and is incompatible.
-RLO and ELFX may technically work, as in won't crash your game, but are not supported as they are incompatible with Relighting Skyrim and ELE. ELFX Core + ELE Interior Modules may work but this is untested and not recommended or supported.

Support and Feedback:
I will do my best to answer any questions you have to the best of my ability. However, before asking for help, make sure you have followed my installation instructions to the letter, you have installed the required mods, and have done your best to research the problem yourself before posting here. I truly do enjoy helping others get the most out of their gaming experience and I hope this ENB enhances that. However, I do have a life outside of this, so I can't be here 100% of the time. I also can't be expected to answer the same questions over and over so do your best to check to see if your question has been answered in the description or the comments previously. I will gladly accept constructive feedback and actually encourage it. My abilities creative energies only go so far and I can't build on that without feedback from you, the user. So, thank you in advance!

If you have more general questions regarding ENB in the broader sense, I would recommend heading over to enbdev.com where the real gurus and Boris himself lurk. For questions specific to the preset, obviously, ask me here. If you notice a bug or odd color during a particular weather or time of day (like a pure yellow sky... yeah, found that in testing once), please let me know. I will need the specific WeatherID (found at the top of the weather window in the ENB GUI) and Time it occurred in order to reproduce and fix it.

Also, an explanation of the version number scheme.
As of writing we are at 1.0.264. The first number (1) signifies what major version of the preset we're at. This won't change much. The second number (0) signifies minor changes, such as when DLC weathers are added or values adjusted. The final number (264) indicates what ENB binary is currently being used and officially supported by me for this preset.

And please, add your screenshots! :)

Future Plans:
Going forward I have a lot of ideas. In the short term, I'll be adding weather support for the DLC's for certain. After that I'm likely to move away from using a palette for a more true HDR experience. Further in the future it's hard to say exactly what I will do and how far I'll go, but I hope to add some more advanced features to the shaders. I'd like to add GUI support for the Depth of Field, more dynamic lens effects... a lot of ideas. We'll see how far I get.
