About this mod

Adds corrosive damage to the game via enchanted weapons and alchemy ingredients.

Permissions and credits
Introduction:

Morrowind and Oblivion had spells and enchantments with a magic effect called Disintegrate. This effect damaged an opponent's weapons and armor, rendering them less effective. Disintegrate is missing from Skyrim, probably because equipment lacks a condition and remains in tip-top shape all the time. This mod brings Disintegrate back in the form of poisons and enchantments, providing an effective way of dealing with armored opponents.

Corrosive Damage:

Corrosive damage does two things:

  • It lowers targets' armor rating temporarily, simulating the destructive effect of acid on their equipment.
  • It deals a small amount of damage to health.

Magic Resistance reduces the corrosive damage inflicted by enchanted weapons. Poison Resistance reduces the corrosive damage inflicted by poisoned weapons.

Weapon Enchantments:

A number of weapons that deal Corrosive Damage have been created and placed in leveled lists, so they can be found around Skyrim just like other enchanted weapons. You may find them in treasure chests, or in the possession of enemies, or for sale in shops. There are weapons in each category (daggers, bows, swords, warhammers, etc.), for every material (iron, steel, orcish, and so on), with six different magnitudes of the enchantment. The Dragonborn version applies the effect to Nordic Steel and Stalhrim weapons as well. The chances of finding corrosive weapons are the same as for other enchanted weapons.

Corrosive weapons can also be disenchanted, and their magic effect learned and applied to other weapons. If you're eager to try this out, an iron dagger with the enchantment has been placed in Delphine's room at the Sleeping Giant Inn in Riverwood.

Alchemy Ingredients:

Poisons with the Corrosive Damage effect can be made from these new ingredients:

  • Purple Milkcap - a mushroom that has been added to leveled lists for uncommon and rare ingredients. The best place to find it is at an Alchemist's shop.
  • Gravetar - has a 25% chance of appearing on dead draugr.
  • Torchbug Queen Thorax - can be obtained from dead spriggans.
  • Deathbell seeds - can be harvested from Deathbell plants, in addition to the usual deathbell flowers.
