ATTENTION: I will not be working on this mod anymore. However, if you want Hammerites and other Thief-related goodies in your game, check out my newer mod, "The Taffer's Treasure Trove". Also available for the Special Edition here.

A long, long time ago, I played an excellent game by the name of Thief: The Dark Project. I liked it a lot. Later, I played its two sequels, The Metal Age and Deadly Shadows. I liked those even more. Then, not long ago, I played the steaming pile of mammoth dung that was Thief (the reboot). I did not like that one; in fact, it made me die a little inside. BUT, it made me feel a bit of nostalgia for the good old games, and I thought, why not mod something out of those for my other favorite game, Skyrim?

And so, using various resources released by other players, I finally managed to put this mod together. After more than a decade, the Hammerites are back with a vengeance. Builder be praised!

Hammerite Equipment Set:

This pack contains one set of heavy armor, one set of light armor, and a warhammer.

- The heavy armor set consists of armored boots, armored gauntlets and two cuirasses.
- The heavy armors have stats that are between steel and dwarven armors.
- The heavy cuirass models include a hood. You CANNOT equip the cuirass and the hood separately. However, the armor stats have been adjusted to combine the protection, weight and value of a cuirass and a helmet. Furthermore, a circlet has been included for those of you that use Heavy Armor perks like Well Fitted, Matching Set, and Reflect Blows. The circlet is invisible when equipped, and it only affects the Armor Rating under the conditions required by these perks.
- Textures to remove the stripes from the heavy boots and gauntlets are available as an optional download. Overwrite the textures from the Main File to use them.
- The heavy armors can be crafted at a smithy if you have the Steel Smithing perk. The armors are found under the IMPERIAL section in the menu.

- The light armor set consists of a cap, bracers, boots and a cuirass.
- The light armors have stats that are around the same as the Thieves' Guild armors.
- The hood and cuirass are separate pieces.
- The armors from the light set can be crafted at a smithy without any perks. They too are found under the IMPERIAL section.

- The Hammerite Maul's stats are in between those of steel and dwarven warhammers.
- The Maul can be crafted at a smithy if you have the Steel Smithing perk. It is under the STEEL section.

Hammerite Haunts:

Every Thief player remembers these guys. Creepy, quick, and extremely skilled with weapons, they are among the most dangerous opponents you encounter throughout the series. Now you can summon them to fight by your side; and while they're not as scary as they were in the Thief games, they're still quite deadly.

- "Summon Hammerite Haunt" is an adept level Conjuration Spell.
- The book to learn the spell can be found in the catacombs below the House of the Dead in Whiterun.
- The spell benefits from the Summoner, Necromancy, and Twin Souls perks.

Known Issues:

- Clipping. The cuirasses use the Witcher models imported by LordOfWar. He did a great job adapting them to Skyrim, and there should not be serious clipping problems. However, when a heavy cuirass is equipped, the back of the head sometimes pokes out of the hood. This usually happens with the males of the human races. Increasing the body weight slider fixes this problem.

- Misogyny. Apparently the Hammerites haven't heard of gender equality, and their armors are tailored to fit the male body. You CAN equip them on a female character, just don't expect it to look good. Unless you like girls with a figure like the Incredible Hulk.

- Racism. Once again, the Argonians and Khajiit get the short end of the stick, possibly because beast races are minions of the Trickster. The hoods on the heavy cuirasses clip with their oversized heads. All other armor parts work fine though, including the cap from the light armor set.

Acknowledgments:

Many thanks go to:
- The guys and gals at CD Projekt Red, for the Witcher games, and for making their assets available to modders.
- L0rd0fWar, for importing these models into Skyrim. The cuirasses are retextures of meshes from "The Witcher 2 models".
- Ghosu, for his great mods, and for letting others use his creations. The Hammerite Maul and the Haunts' swords are from "Ghosus Weapon Pack".
- Vicn, for the "Vicn Creature Pack", which provided me with the body parts for the Haunts.
- And, last but not least, Looking Glass Studios and Ion Storm, for many happy hours spent playing their games.
