First and foremost this mod is still very much a WIP. Right now this mod only adds one shield but I am aming to implement all the vanilla shields and possibly some other shields from mods.
Update 2.1.1 Thank RBU for this one, Most of the scripting is getting close to what I have imagined as the finished product. It really blows my mind what this guy does! The whiterun guards now have breakable shield, they break faster than the players shield to actually make it useful in combat. Shields will respawn in the guards inventory after 15 minutes if broken. Now I will get to work on the rest of the shield meshes but make sure that you give RBU kudos for creating the scripts!
What does this mod do?
-It adds a shield that breaks after a certain amount of damage.
-Because I said so.
The shield has 10 different states. The more damage it takes the more broken its going to get and its damage state will increase. As the shield is going through its different states of damage it will change both meshes and textures which adds another element to combat.
When the shield reaches it's final state it will break and fall off. Right now it automatically adds the shield pieces to your inventory after it breaks but in the future the shield will actually be dropped so that the player manually has to pick it up. The pieces can then be brought to the forge to be repaired.
I am currently working on the vanilla shields and textures to make them breakable aswell. Hopefully it will make shield and sword combat funnier and you can finally get past those turtle blocking enemies by breaking their shield.
Future of this mod
The shield can be found in Riverwood near the forge.
Installation: Drag and drop into your skyrim/data folder. Or preferably use NMM.
Bugs: Right now the shield automatically repairs itself when near a forge, this will be fixed in future updates.
