Thank you all for taking time to download and endorsing this mod.

Refraction of Light

Wiki: "Refraction is the bending of a wave when it enters a medium where it's speed is different. The refraction of light when it passes from a fast medium to a slow medium bends the light ray toward the normal to the boundary between the two media." In a plain term, it looks great in-game in motion.

This mod featured on the Skyrim Beautification web site.

Special thanks to farkhadrasul for showing me how to do refraction. A tremendous contribution he has provided to this mod.

Refracting Glass Armor and Weapons
Refracting Wine Bottles
Refracting Soul Gems

Please use the Nexus Mod Manager (or Mod Organizer) if you have it because that will automatically install.
The MAIN download has the NON SKIMPY armors and non transparent weapons.

The "Refracting Stalhrim Options" download has a list of SKIMPY armors and the transparent weapons.
  • The MAIN download is not required for installing just the transparency weapons.
  • The male armors and female boots/gauntlets are missing, so the MAIN download is recommended for installing a SKIMPY female armor.

If you want to install both NON SKIMPY armors and the transparent weapons:
  • install MAIN first, and install the "Refracting Stalhrim Options" download with only the transparent weapon option.
  • You must ignore all other armor options because they are all SKIMPY female armors only.

All armors from MAIN and optional downloads do not have the transparency option.
  • I didn't do the transparency on armors because the armor's crystal looked too dull.
  • The transparency on the shield and the weapons option is available in the All in One options download.

For the Scoped Stalhrim bow with the refracting scope lens option, the Scoped Bows by OutLaw666 must be installed first.

For manual Installation

Download the MAIN download file, and unzip it to a temporary directory. For the armor, copy the Armor directory's meshes and textures directories to the Skyrim/Data directory. For the weapon, copy the Weapon directory's meshes and textures directories to the Skyrim/Data directory.  The All in On options download's WTransparent directory has the weapon transparency mesh and texture.

ENB TemporalAA

If you are using the ENB TemporalAA enabled, this mod will look "twitching" on some of glass pieces that are made to refract. This mod added a duplicate mesh object to make it look refracting, and TemporalAA will make those objects look flipping between the two when your GPU cannot produce x2 fps that are being rendered. Please try disabling the ENB TemporalAA with this mod until I can find a solution to work with it.
Why the sampling rate of a scene must be at least twice as high as fps

UPDATE: I found a way to eliminate the "twitching" when the ENB Temporal AA is enabled. However, this ENB feature lowered FPS by 50% (60fps to 30fps) on my PC with i7-3770 and two 7850 crossfire setup. I decided not to mod something that is a performance killer. The solution required me to Blender every glass pieces on each mesh file.
