About this mod

This mod changes the skeletonbeast.nif in order to make the beast races truly walk on their toes.

Permissions and credits
Note: I really recommend that you use this mod with one of the feet replacer mods out there. It'll work with normal feet, it will just look REALLY strange.

Description

There have been several mods made to make Argonians and Khajiit more beastlike by changing their feet, some even adding a close to digitigrade mesh. However, those mods were unable to alter the skeletal structure and balance of the races, leaving something to be desired.

That issue has now been solved.

Versions

There are two versions of this mod. One for 'plantigrade' feet replaces, such as Grimoa's plantigrade mod or Derok's reptilian feet mod.

The other, the 'Adjusted Version' is for Artifex0's digitigrade mod, and any other mod that tries to make the beast races seem more digitigrade.

I'm not 100% sure how this mod will react with everything (I'm sort of scared to ragdoll at the moment) so I would like some testers for this WIP.

Compatibility

This mod will overrwrite the skeletonbeast.nif and skeletonbeast_female.nif files.

If a mod is compatible with the vanilla skeleton, you'll want the main version. If you're using mods dependent on the XP32 skeleton, download the test compatibility version in the optional files section.

Issues

The various feet mesh mods on the Nexus are fitted to the vanilla body. As a result, there are visible gaps/mesh mixmatches when you use custom body meshes. This is not the fault of my mod.

Boots look a little strange, and the feet on argonians look somewhat flat but I'm not sure if that can be adjusted more than I already have done it.

Also one of the nails in Grimoa's mod clips through the foot. I may be making an adjusted version of the mesh in the future.

FAQ

Q. Will I need custom meshes for each boot to fit this mod?

A. If you are using the regular version, ANY ARMOR that fits the vanilla skeleton will work and probably look alright. Probably.
If you are using the adjusted version, you WILL need custom boots that fit the digitigrade style. Vanilla boots will look strange. Sorry about that.

Q. Can you convert _________ skeleton so it's digitigrade?

A. I think so! I'll make skeleton conversions on a 'per request' basis, but it only takes me a few minutes to make them digitigrade anyways.

Q. What if I want Argonians to be digitigrade and Khajiit to be plantigrade, or vice versa?

A. .....ugh. Well, yes, technically I can do that, but it'll require me making an .esp for it to work.
If people ask, I'll set it up.

Q. How did you do this?

a. NiNodes, son. Here's a tutorial I wrote explaining how I did it.
