About this mod

I realized one day that so many problems with immersion-breaking in Skyrim can be easily solved by simply: increasing many items weights and values in a very detailed and calculated way.~ So that's what I did with this mod.~

I realized one day that so many problems with immersion-breaking in Skyrim can be easily solved by simply: increasing many items' weights and values in a very detailed and calculated way.~

Things this mod DOES NOT CHANGE:

Weapons
Armor (Except Dragonscale & Dragonbone Armor)
Clothing
Jewelery
Backpacks, Pouches, etc.
Potions
Food
Drinks
Soul Gems
Gems (like Amethysts, Rubies, and Sapphires)
Alchemy Ingredients

Enjoy!~

Recommendations: If you want all Races to start out with DIFFERENT MORE 'believable' carrying weights, then use my other mod WITH any of the Realistic Items series for a truly more 'immersive' experience:

More Believable Carrying Weight

Also for more realistic jumping overall try out my other mod: Athletic Jump increases your ability to jump without being ridiculous and unrealistic.~

Athletic Jump

I also highly recommend you find a great Arrow Weight mod, because to me: carrying over 100 Arrows with NO increase in weight AT ALL is totally bordering on making all Arrows in existence 'magically weightless' story-wise just to make sense of it.~

Lastly, if you like to play as a Werewolf you can try out my biggest mod created with MichaelDusk, called: Werewolves Unleashed: a newly balanced, progressive Werewolf 'unleashing':

Werewolves Unleashed

ALL MODS ARE COMPATIBLE AND WORK WELL TOGETHER!~

If you want to use all of my (and MichaelDusk's) mods together, then place them in this order:

Athletic Jump or Supernatural Jump
Werewolves Unleashed
Realistic Items' Weights and Values
More Believable Carrying Weight

Requirements: Skyrim

Compatibility:

This mod is intended to NOT change ANY quest items, nor does it currently change potions, food, nor drinks to be maximumally compatible with other "Immersive Mods".~

Please test these out as you please and please let me and every one else here know if some parts are not compatible with certain mods and how balanced it is.~

Thank you.~

Now every one, I present: Realistic Items' Weights And Values!~

ABB wins five-year Full Service agreement for copper smelting plant in Namibia

Mining using only a pickaxe and one's hands is a long hard task requiring a great amount of strength and time that can take an entire day to even weeks to months to even years to accomplish.~ Some make a career out of it.~

According to: http://www.usmint.gov/about_the_mint/fun_facts/?action=fun_facts13

the measurements of a Gold Bar in The Federal Reserve is 7 inches x 3.625 inches x 1.75 inches

and 1 U.S.A. Mint Gold Bar weighs about 27.5 pounds.

According to this: http://ocgold.com/blog/?p=18122

Gold Ingots must be at least 95% pure gold to be considered an Ingot while Gold Bars don't have to be this pure to be considered a Gold Bar.

This:
http://www.elmhurst.edu/~chm/vchembook/125Adensitygold.html

calculates the weight of a standard U.S.A. Gold Bar in The Federal Reserves as 30 pounds based only on its' dimensions and the Atomic Density of Gold, meaning this is assuming that the Gold Bar being calculated is 100% Pure Gold which would definitely qualify it as a Gold Ingot.

Since this web page also showed me how to calculate this for myself, I checked the math:

Mathematical Definition of Density:

"The formal definition of density is mass per unit volume. Usually the density is expressed in grams per mL or cc.
Mathematically a "per" statement is translated as a division. cc is a cubic centimeter and is equal to a mL Therefore:

Density =mass = g/mL volume"

Which means Grams/Cubic Centimeter x Volume = Weight

g/cc x Volume = Weight

Inches to Centimeters: http://www.metric-conversions.org/length/inches-to-centimeters-table.htm

[1 inch = 2.54 centimeters]

7 inches x 2.54 centimeters = 17.78cm

3.625 inches x 2.54 centimetes = 9.2075cm

1.75 inches x 2.54 centimeters = 4.445cm

17.78cm x 9.2075cm x 4.445cm = 727.68806075cm

Gold's Atomic Density is 19.282g/cc (Grams per Cubic Centimeter)

19.282g/cc x 727.68806075cm = 1,4031.2811873815g (Grams)

Pounds to Grams:
http://www.metric-conversions.org/weight/pounds-to-grams-table.htm

[1 Pound = 453.59 Grams]

1,4031.2811873815g / 453.59g = 30.93384154717145439714279415331lb. = 31lb. (rounded)

Turns out it's actually 31 pounds (rounded).

Malachite and Moonstone:

According to: http://www.classicgems.net/Density.htm

Malachite and Moonstone are gems and can vary in density based upon composition.

Corundum:

According to:
http://www.mindat.org/min-1136.html

Corundum is a mineral, is actually a combination of elements, and can vary in density based upon composition.

Orichalcum:

According to:
http://www.coinandbullionpages.com/gold-alloys/orichalcum.html

Orichalcum is a mysterious metal that is said to shine like Gold at times but is not actually Gold and appears to have properties of Copper as well, thus I decided to go with Copper's weight as copper is lighter than Gold and a magical metal that looks like Gold but is lighter seems reasonable to me.

Steel:

Steel is made by combining
1 Corundum Ingot and 1 Iron Ingot.

Quicksilver:

Quicksilver is another name for Mercury.

Ebony:

Ebony has the name of a hard, tough, and heavy wood in Our World, but according The Elder Scrolls lore is described as a volcanic metal that is black and
glass-like making it seem very similar to Obsidian which is actually very lightweight.

Ebony Armor weighs slightly more than Orcish Armor, which is a combination of Orichalcum and Iron, thus it is reasonable to say that Ebony is heavier than Orichalcum and Iron combined, which is 8.993g/cc + 7.874g/cc = 16.867/cc, rounded that's 16.87g/cc which seems reasonable to me.

Dwarven Metal:

Dwarven Armor is Heavier than
Ebony Armor, but is made of 3 Dwarven Metal Ingots + 1 Iron Ingot + 1 Steel Ingot, that's 60% Dwarven Metal and 40% Iron/Steel.

1 Steel and 1 Iron combined is 7.6lb + 5.2lb = 12.8 pounds although Iron/Steel may comprise only 40% of Dwarven Armor, it may also comprise a majority of the weight of the armor. A metal does not have to be heavy to be considered strong and Dwarven Metal is very similar to the mysterious Orichalcum in many ways.

Dwarven Armor weighs 45 pounds - 12.8 pounds = 32.2lb./3i. = 11 pounds (rounded)

I found all the other Atomic Density Grams per Cubic Centimeters of The Elements here: http://education.jlab.org/itselemental/

Moonstone Atomic Density per Cubic Centimeter = 2.57g/cc
Malachite Atomic Density per Cubic Centimeter = 3.80g/cc
Corundum Atomic Density per Cubic Centimeter = 3.997g/cc
Iron Atomic Density per Cubic Centimeter = 7.874g/cc
Copper Atomic Density per Cubic Centimeter = 8.933g/cc
Silver Atomic Density per Cubic Centimeter = 10.501g/cc
Mercury Atomic Density per Cubic Centimer = 13.5336g/cc
Ebony Atomic Density per Cubic Centimeter = 16.87g/cc
Gold Atomic Density per Cubic Centimeter = 19.282g/cc

If I use the same dimensions for a Gold Bar as I do for all the other metals and round all the numbers into whole numbers then I can use this formula:

(728cm x AD) / 454g = Weight of 1 Metal Ingot ; AD = Atomic Density

Metal Ingots:

Moonstone Ingot = 4 pounds
Malachite Ingot = 6 pounds
Corundum Ingot = 6 pounds
Iron Ingot = 13 pounds
Orichalcum Ingot = 14 pounds
Silver Ingot = 17 pounds
Steel Ingot = 19 pounds
Quicksilver Ingot = 22 pounds
Ebony Ingot = 27 pounds
Gold Ingot = 31 pounds

The Metal Ingot weights are for Pure Metals, but Metal doesn't usually come in a pure state and you must Smelt 2 Ores to get just 1 Ingot of Pure Metal.

I reason that 60% of the Ore, which is probably various types of rock, is smelted away by the Smelting process leaving the Pure 40% Metal, the exception
to this would be Iron Ore as you only need 1 Iron Ore to make 1 Pure Iron Ingot I reason 80% of Iron Ore is Pure Iron while only 20% of the Iron Ore will
be smelted away.

Iron Ingot: 13 pounds is 80% of Iron Ore, 13 / 0.8 = 16.25 pounds ; Check: 16.25lb. x 0.2 = 3.25lb., 16.25lb. - 3.25lb. = 13 pounds

For all the other Metals:

Weight of Pure Metal Ingot / 2 = x / 0.4 = 1 Metal Ore

Moonstone Ingot: 4lb. / 2 = 2lb. / 0.4 = 5 pounds; Check: 5lb. x 0.6 = 3lb., 5lb. - 3lb. = 2lb. x 2 = 4 pounds
Malachite Ingot: 6lb. / 2 = 3lb. / 0.4 = 7.5 pounds ; Check: 7.5lb. x 0.6 = 4.5lb., 7.5lb. - 4.5lb. = 3lb. x 2 = 6 pounds
Corundum Ingot: 6lb. / 2 = 3lb. / 0.4 = 7.5 pounds ; Check: 7.5lb. x 0.6 = 4.5lb., 7.5lb. - 4.5lb. = 3lb. x 2 = 6 pounds
Orichalcum Ingot: 14lb. / 2 = 7lb. / 0.4 = 17.5 pounds ; Check: 17.5lb. x 0.6 = 10.5lb., 17.5lb. - 10.5lb. = 7lb. x 2 = 14 pounds
Silver Ingot: 17lb. / 2 = 8.5lb. / 0.4 = 21.25 pounds ; Check: 21.25lb x 0.6 = 12.75lb., 21.25lb. - 12.75lb. = 8.5lb. x 2 = 17 pounds
Quicksilver Ingot: 22lb. / 2 = 11lb. / 0.4 = 27.5 pounds ; Check: 27.5lb. x 0.6 = 16.5lb., 27.5lb. - 16.5lb. = 11lb. x 2 = 22 pounds
Ebony Ingot: 27lb. / 2 = 13.5lb. / 0.4 = 33.75 pounds ; Check: 33.75lb. x 0.6 = 20.25lb., 33.75lb. - 20.25lb. = 13.5lb. x 2 = 17 pounds
Gold Ingot: 31lb. / 2 = 15.5lb. / 0.4 = 38.75 pounds ; Check: 38.75lb x 0.6 = 23.25lb., 38.75lb - 23.25lb. = 15.5lb x 2 = 31 pounds

Metal Ores:

Moonstone Ore: 5 pounds
Malachite Ore: 7.5 pounds
Corundum Ore: 7.5 pounds
Iron Ore: 16.25 pounds
Orichalcum Ore: 17.5 pounds
Silver Ore: 21.25 pounds
Quicksilver Ore: 27.5 pounds
Ebony Ore: 33.75 pounds
Gold Ore: 38.75 pounds

I went here for The United States Mint Legal Tender Coins Physical Specifications Table: http://www.usmint.gov/about_the_mint/?action=coin_specifications

A Knickel seemed like an appropriate medium size coin in size to compare a Gold Septim Coin to so I calculated the Grams to Pounds.

1 U.S.A. Knickel = 5.00 Grams

[1 Pound = 453.59 Grams]

100 Knickels = 500 Grams = 1 Pound (rounded)

Therefore:

1 Gold Septim Coin = 0.01 pounds

100 Gold Septim Coins = 1 pound

In order to make the weights of these metals viable for forging armor without changing any thing related to the armors themselves, I've decided to divide all the weights by 2.5, this can easily be explained: I've simply reasoned that the Ingots used in Skyrim are much smaller than the Gold Bars kept in The United States Federal Reserve.

Since Metal Ores are 60% various rock and not Pure Metal I've subtracted 60% off their Values.

Value x 0.6 = x, Value - x = New Value

I also get the same result by dividing by 2.5.

Value / 2.5 = New Value

This is how Metal Ingots are priced in Skyrim by default:

Iron Ingot: 7 Septims/pound
Steel Ingot: 20 Septims/pound
Dwarven Metal Ingot: 30 Septims/pound
Corundum Ingot: 40 Septims/pound
Orichalcum Ingot: 45 Septims/pound
Silver Ingot: 50 Septims/pound
Quicksilver Ingot: 60 Septims/pound
Moonstone Ingot: 75 Septims/pound
Malachite Ingot: 100 Septims/pound
Gold Ingot: 100 Septims/pound
Ebony Ingot: 150 Septims/pound

Metal Ores:

Moonstone Ore: 2 pounds = 60 Septims
Malachite Ore: 3 pounds = 120 Septims
Corundum Ore: 3 pounds = 48 Septims
Iron Ore: 6.5 pounds = 18 Septims
Orichalcum Ore: 7 pounds = 126 Septims
Silver Ore: 8.5 pounds = 170 Septims
Quicksilver Ore: 11 pounds = 264 Septims
Ebony Ore: 13.5 pounds = 810 Septims
Gold Ore: 15.5 pounds = 620 Septims

Metal Ingots:

Moonstone Ingot = 1.6 pounds = 120 Septims
Malachite Ingot = 2.4 pounds = 240 Septims
Corundum Ingot = 2.4 pounds = 96 Septims
Dwarven Metal Ingot: 4.4 pounds = 132 Septims
Iron Ingot = 5.2 pounds = 36 Septims
Orichalcum Ingot = 5.6 pounds = 252 Septims
Silver Ingot = 6.8 pounds = 340 Septims
Steel Ingot = 7.6 pounds = 152 Septims
Quicksilver Ingot = 8.8 pounds = 528 Septims
Ebony Ingot = 10.8 pounds = 1,620 Septims
Gold Ingot = 12.4 pounds = 1,240 Septims
