THE IDEA AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS MOD ARE BOTH CRAP AND THE ONLY REASON THIS FILE ISN'T DELETED IS BECAUSE I DON'T THINK FILES SHOULD BE DELETED EVEN IF I THINK THEY'RE CRAP. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN NON-RESTORATION WARDS, I'VE MADE Alterion Wards - Alteration wardsWHICH IS ACTUALLY A DECENT MOD. THE END.

This mod adds spells new ward spells to the school of Conjuration that use their own models. Spelltomes are found in Dragonsreach.

Installation
Use a mod manager to install the archive. I expect anyone installing manually to know what they're doing.

Details
There are 3 new ward spells. They have the same magnitudes and magicka costs as their vanila counterparts (Lesser ward, Steadfast ward and Greater ward) but they miss the armor component to make things more balanced. The wards have their own textures and their hand models use a conjuration model.

The spell tomes to learn these spells can be found inside Dragonsreach. Go to the second floor and turn left to get to the indoor overlook thing. Spelltomes are found at the end of it.

This is standalone and should not conflict with other mods that change spell effects or spells because it uses duplicated and modified spells and spell effects. This doesn't include the sound effects, they will be replaced by whatever you're replacing them with.

Changelog:

  • 0.3: New textures for the wards. They do not look like what I wanted them to, but I'd have to modify meshes to make that happen, which exceeds my skillset. Consider this the final version.
  • 0.2: Worked around the bug where removing the shield/armor component caused the active effects menu to display wrong magnitude for the warding effect. The armor effect was added back on, but is nullified and shouldn't raise any skill. If you know how to fix this without a workaround, contact me. Fixed bug where after the ward was no longer active you would get staggered by every spell and a ward-breaking sound would play, but you would take no damage. I don't know what caused the spell to not work, but I remade the spell and it is now working. It is identical to the earlier one so I don't know what caused it to work either. Someone call ghostbusters.
  • 0.1: Initial release, which was deleted instantly because I noticed a few bugs.
