This mod has 4 new 2K sets of replacement textures for the Bethesda vanilla pelts of Skyrim. There are three pelts to a pack, the first 3 sets being variety packs, and the fourth one, a "cat" pack.

The Bethesda high-resolution textures for the 3 pelts in the game are good quality, but they looked too generic and bland for me. I thought the game could use more variety (and choice) when it came to the 3 pelt textures. I've created 4 sets of textures (3 to a set), that allow a simple replacement of the default pelts. Just pick the set you like most and install it. This can be done with NMM, or manually.

I personally recommend manual installation, because this gives the user the option of combining pelts from different packs. Say you like the timber wolf from pack 1, but want the cow from pack 3, since they are different numbers (pelt01.dds and pelt02.dds respectively), you can use them together. Just mix and match as you like, as long as the pelt textures don't share the same number.

I have also included an optional download of the pelt01_n.dds, pelt02_n.dds, and pelt03_n.dds files, for those people who don't have the corresponding normal map "shape" textures. You will also need these if you want to alter any of the pelt textures. If (for example) you want to use two pelts that share the same number, you will have to rename one file, and the corresponding _n.dds file.

Installation: Use NMM, or to do manually, merely unzip the files and install them into your Data folder in your Skyrim game folder.

The file path is [C]Windows > Programs Files or Program Files (x86) > Steam > SteamApps > Common > Skyrim > Data > Textures > Architecture > Farmhouse

Uninstall: Deactivate with NMM, or just manually delete (or overwrite) the pelt01.dds, pelt02.dds, and pelt03.dds files.

Credits: Thanks to Bethesda for creating Skyrim and making the high-resolution packs available, which these textures are based on.

Enjoy!
