There are two folders in the mod archive.

One includes a version of the mod for the original ("vanilla") version of the game if you do not have the Dawnguard DLC installed. The other folder includes a version of the mod that also removes the glowing eyes from the skeletons that have been added with the Dawnguard DLC.

Instructions for "Vanilla Skyrim":

1. Open the "Vanilla Skyrim Version" folder if you do not have Dawnguard installed.
2. Copy the contents of the "data" folder from the mod archive into your Skyrim "data" folder.

Instructions for "Dawnguard":

1. Open the "Dawnguard" folder if you have Dawnguard installed.
2. Copy the contents of the "data" folder from the mod archive into your Skyrim "data" folder.

About the mod:
Skeletons use the same blueish glow as the Draugr creatures. This effect is based on a "spell" every skeleton casts upon itself (as Draugr do). This spell is not a buff, it is simply creating a glowing/smearing effect for eyes. I removed the spell for the glow effect from the list of spells a skeleton casts upon itself. I also found a race tagged as "RigidSkeletonRace", these skeletons use the same spells as draugr on themselves. As the effect is shared by several races in the game, simply removing the glow there would also remove it for Draugr and every other creature that uses the same effect for glowing eyes. Therefore I created a separate set of spells for them without the glow, which works exactly the same except for the glow being removed.

I always wanted skeletons to look more evil, with pitch black eye holes just as a normal skeleton would. While I also like the glow effect (especially on Draugr) for its ability to actually show that the creature is magically animated, I always felt that it somehow wasn't what I am looking for when imaging a fighting skeleton. So basically I wanted it to look more like this... ;) http://pics.mobygames.com/images/covers/large/1259681554-00.jpg

About the screenshots:
I recommend the "More Bony Skeletons" textures in the "Grimy and Aged" version here on the Nexus which I lightened up a bit to be slightly more bleached (but not too much), you can see the result in the screenshots ;)
