Summary:

This mod adds an extensive abode featuring all the necesseties one could ask for. The safehouse is on the larger scale in terms of abodes, but not too large that you find yourself lost in your own home. There is a short quest to explain why the safehouse exists for all the lore fans, aswell as a quest to purchase the house upgrades. I wanted to make a home that was easy to navigate, efficient with auto-sorting while still looking good and having lots of display areas.Also I wanted to keep this home fair and not overpowered. The features assist in saving time and displays mostly, I stayed away from game breaking ideas and overpowered items and equipment.

Main Features Include:

  • Two short quests, One to become the owner of the safehouse, and one to completely upgrade it.
  • Entry room with water features and spell tomb altar.
  • Teleport spell Which allows to set 3 markers, recall to those 3 markers, or return home to the safehouse.
  • Private quarters including bed with resting bonus.
  • Kitchen area with 8 catagorized auto-sorting food containers, 3 storage cupboards for miscellaneous.

  • An artifact display for 30 unique items.
  • Alchemy gardens with respawning ingredients.
  • Weapon plaques, racks, cases and mannequins.(sneak w/ weapon drawn to activate mannequin menu)
  • Various places to just take a moment and relax.
  • 100% nav-meshed and follower and spouse friendly.
  • Each room has a working light switch.
  • On-Site Merchant for unloading those goods.
  • Steward for use of upgrade quest.
  • 18 total types of auto-sorting containers(have menus for sorting options, sneak to rertrieve items)
  • 8 types of quick-sorters ( no menu options for sorting, sneak to retrieve items)
  • Npc's are active and lively, makes the atmosphere seem much more realistic.

Upgradable Features Include:

Quick-Sorting Station - 1000 Gold
  • Empty player inventory quickly into the appropriate containers.
  • Makes moving in a breeze.
  • Note : even equiped items will be removed, there is a container labeled equiped items, use this to store what you want to keep while quicksorting.

World Map With Teleport Locations - 1000 Gold
  • 14 teleport locations to places all around skyrim.

Private Armory - 3500 Gold
  • Proper non-stat-reseting dragon preist mask busts.
  • Custom dragon claw display.
  • 32 labeled containers for every vanilla weapon and armor and quick-sort switches for ease of use.
  • 12 Miscellaneous Containers for storage.
  • Perimiter bookshelves.
  • Dragonborn's throne and desk.
  • Automatically Stock arrows into the arrow bins for a cool display feature.

Private Quarters - 3000 Gold
  • Beds for 12 followers. ( 4 already occupied)
  • Four custom npc followers, Each train a certain stat and are marriagable.
  • Unique baths room for your every desire.
  • Dining table decorated with the appropriate items.
  • Small seperate follower armory for ease of organizing between 8 possible follower equipments.
  • Custom NPC packages for depth and immersion.

Barracks & Guards - 2500 Gold
  • Four custom NPC guards
  • Safehouse has its own crime faction. Be careful who you wrong, there will be consequences.
  • Small weapon display chamber.
  • Dining table decorated with the appropriate items.
  • Guards have custom AI packages and patrol the safehouse regularly.
  • Npc's will use the provided trraining areas.

Dungeon & Jailors - 2500 Gold
  • Two Custon NPC Jailors to keep order.
  • A custom Working Prison system with all the ameneties.
  • Celler area with mead barrels etc.
  • Jailors have custom AI packages for depth and immersion.

Crafting Room - 3000 Gold
  • All crafting equipment including a working antronach forge.
  • 11 auto-sorting containers for all craftable items in skyrim. ex: ingredients, soul gems, scrolls, potions, gemstones etc.

  • Working Bug-In-A-Jar display
  • Room with shelving which will automatically sort and stack your ignots, leather, dragon items etc. (courtesy of Janicke80)
  • Weapon plaques, racks, cases and mannequins.

Shrine Room - 2000 Gold
  • All shrines and standing stones.
  • Various places to just take a moment and relax.
  • Used in NPC AI packages including idle markers.

Where Is The Safehouse:

This mod is found through the quest, "The Secret Of Skyrim" A Courier will find you and deliver a note to start the quest. If your having trouble finding him, Try traveling to a city or two.

Installation:

  • Step #1 - Backup Your Save Games!
  • Step #2 - Copy the Data folder from the archive to your skyrim folder.(:Program Files (x86)SteamSteamAppscommonskyrim) Overwrite if asked.
  • Step #3 - Open your skyrim launcher and under "data files" ensure that skyrimsafehouse.esp file is checked.
  • Step #4 - Play the game.


Uninstallation:

  • Step #1 - Uncheck skyrimsafehouse.esp from the skyrim launcher.
  • Step #2 - Delete all the files associated with this mod, Using the original archive as a reference.

Troubleshooting :

  • My mannequins are whack
    Solution - I have done my best to perfect the navmesh under the mannequins, There are several bethesda bugs associated with mannequins, Most of the time placing armor into their inventory will reset their location.I have found a mod which fixes these bugs, link is above.If using the mannequin fix mod, changing the state of the mannequin seems to permanently lock them into position.


  • The Courier Never Shows Up
    Solution 1 - Try fast travelling to a few cities, Sometimes he is lazy to make his errands :-)Solution 2 - Opt out of the Steam beta updates for Skyrim. This mod does not support beta updatesSolution 3 - Here is a console fix. Use the ~ Key to open the console and type the following:"coc wicouriercell" - This will teleport you to a cell with a single barrel in the center.With the console open click on the barrel to select it (numbers will show up) and type the following:"unlock" - This will remove the lock allowing you to grab "The Anonymous Note""coc windhelmhjerim" - COC to any other location to leave


  • Mottierre won't speak about the upgrades
    Solution - There is a bug regarding updates of global variables. Leave the safehouse entirely, wait 24 hours in-game. Save your game and then reload that save. This will resolve the global variable issue and Mottierre will speak.


  • The Quest doesn't start, I need help?
    Solution - Below is a general guideline of how to troubleshoot this mod.1. Which version did you download? Let me know if your asking for help :-)2. What version of skyrim update do you have ? You'll require the latest official update (Version 1.9.32.0.0 Minimum) New beta updates are not supported by this mod.3. Where is the safehouse on your load order? I have mine last on the list of active mods.4. Verify you installed this correctly and be sure the mod is checked as active( Or use NMM)5. Confirm your saved game is not bugged. use the "coc" command from the main skyrim menu and teleport to any location, you will load in as a new lvl 1 prisoner in a clean save. Test the quest with this character.6. With all other mods disabled, Repeat step 5.


  • Proper steps for a clean install:
    1. Load your current version, retrieve all your items from the safehouse, Be sure not to miss anything this is your last chance to grab everything.2. Go somewhere away from the safehouse. be far away from the exterior aswell. Riverwood for example.3. MAKE A NEW SAVE FOR YOUR CHARACTER. (call this SAVE 1)4. Go into your skyrim folder.(C://Programfiles(x86)/Steam/SteamApps/Common/Skyrim/Data/) And Delete SkyrimSafehouse1.0.ESP5. Make sure you have no Safehouse ESP files left.6. Load your game and load your newly created save( SAVE 1). SAVE YOUR GAME AGAIN. (Call this SAVE 2)This will overwrite any remaing data regarding the safehouse. 7. Re-Install the updated safehouse.8. Now you can load from SAVE 2 and continue playing. This will be a fresh install with no remaining data from previous updates.

About This Mod:

  • This is without a doubt my biggest mod project I have yet to tackle (well and completed ;-)
  • About 220 hours invested.
  • Almost 100 newly written scripts.
  • Learning about papyrus and creating quests was both challenging and fun.Test after test after test!
