I made this mod after arriving to Ivarstead on the brink of being over-encumbered, only to remember there are no proper merchants to sell loot to there. A search on the Workshop and Nexus yielded no results, so Creation Kit to the rescue!

All shops open from 9 AM to 21 PM (except for the merchants in Goldenrod, who work 24/7) and have about 750 pieces of gold for trading. They have vanilla dialogue since I am not good with that kind of thing, but have little backstories based on letters and journals you'll find around their workplaces. Now, a bit of info about the merchants added:

In Rorikstead, on the edge of town, you'll meet Valund, a blacksmith, and his wife Hreiri, a trader, whose friend recently opened up a library. Hreiri, a former wanderer, is not dealing very well with life in the peaceful town, so she may be a bit bristly when you go talk to her.

If you choose the optional file, you'll also meet Fibela, an old lady who will sell potions and ingredients. A young loved one of hers has left, and her heart is broken - maybe you've heard of him.

In Ivarstead, young Elberond has opened a general goods store near the waterfall. His original plan was to open an apothecary, but that didn't go so well so he has expanded his horizons. That however has not stopped him from doing experiments in Alchemy. Hillock, on the other hand, has opened a small smithy on the slopes right above Fellstar Farm. And, outside of town, Yeena has set up a small camp while she looks for a sample of the elusive crimson nirnroot. In the meantime she will sell potions and ingredients. Will she succeed in her quest? (Bonus points if you manage to get the references to a certain game I made with these last two...)

In Dawnstar, The Mortar and Pestle has been divided into two flats to maximize compatibility. Pelette has opened a small general store on the second floor after her lover disappeared. What happened to him? Where could he be?

In Morthal, twin sisters Boguk & Kugob have (begrudgingly) partnered to open a blacksmith and a general goods store while they settle who owns the building, located between Falion's and Alva's houses. A small walkway will lead you to the door.

In Shor's Stone, a widower Khajiit and his daughter have fallen on hard times after their carriage broke. To make ends meet, the daughter will sell potions and ingredients, while the father will sell general goods. He will also rent you a bedroll on a small tent if you need to rest.

In Karthwasten, several services have been added: an inn, apothecary, common goods trader and blacksmith. Since there wasn't much room, I organized them the best I could; the inn is in the center of town (the bed can be rented and everything, although for some reason it takes the innkeeper a little while to show you the bed - it's the one with the green curtains), and both the apothecary and general traders can be found in the cellar. There's something strange about them, but they are perfectly friendly and will gladly buy whatever you have to offer, and sell you plenty of things in return. The blacksmith has set up his business with his brother's help next to the miner's barracks, which I changed around a bit to get some extra room.

In Kynesgrove, lofty Lina, a general trader, was really excited to meet up with her husband Huskar, a blacksmith, and start a new life together, but things may not have gone as she originally planned. And, at the local inn, Dravynea the Stoneweaver's sister, Mirana, has come to visit and will gladly sell potions and ingredients to anybody who is interested.

Finally, in Dragon Bridge, Bosmer brothers Slate and Fahook, alongside their dog Shadow, have started a small business on a newly built tower behind the Penitus Oculatus Outpost. They'll sell potions and weaponry, and buy any you may have for sale. Also, young Julienne Lylvieve, a Breton resident, works cleaning the Four Shields Inn. Since she really wants to own an inn for herself someday, she has decided that it would be good practice to start selling general goods whenever possible.

Update list:

09/19/2014: New files are up, kindly cleaned and polished by Ablaze666 - thank you! Feature lights that change during the day and a bunch of little details. You can find a changelog in the new download, as well as .esp files for the regular version of the mod, the one with the Rorikstead alchemist, and the one with both Rorikstead and Riverwood alchemists. To install, first unpack the contents of the "meshes and textures" folder to your Data folder and overwrite, then choose the .esp file you want and overwrite as well. Enjoy!

02/17/2014: Another small update. I reinstalled my game recently and noticed that there are no alchemists in Riverwood, so I slapped one together quickly and figured I'd share. I added her to the same file as the latest optional esp with the alchemist in Rorikstead, so you'll get both. The store is near the sawmill, behind a huge pile of logs. I know there are many mods that add houses to Riverwood, but hopefully people who may want to have the additional merchant will be able to use it without conflicts.

11/25: A small update of sorts. I noticed I hadn't included an alchemist in Rorikstead, so I added one as an optional file. Feel free to download and overwrite if you want her in your game. It's an optional file because her house is behind the inn, and I think there are some mods out there that like to put houses and other buildings in the same area. I have cleaned this esp with TESEDIT, in case you may like your mods squeaky clean.

8/5: Hopefully last update, for real! (And a very late one at that...)
- FIxed Boguk in Morthal so she will actually buy and sell general goods instead of smithing items.
- Corrected the chests Karthwasten merchants Karen and Grimsley were pointing at, which were wrong and were causing them to sell the same items at the same time. They also now work 24/7.
- Tweaked the navmesh on Lioneye's, to prevent Hillock from getting stuck when waking up.
- Added some keywords to the inn in Karthwasten in order to have the bard sing at random intervals, and modified the curtain from the rentable bed so it will stop being so darn noisy.
- Wrote a journal for Slate in Dragon Bridge based on a nightmare I just had today. Have fun reading the horror!
- Removed the BSA and made it all loose files to prevent the dark face bug from appearing in the future. Feel free to remove the old BSA.
- Added a new mesh (included in the loose files), from Oaristys and Tony67's fine Modders Resource Pack, to use as a sign of sorts outside the inn in Karthwasten. This will prevent the old platter from glitching into its holder.

3/30: Corrected last grey faces (I think).
3/28: Changed Hreiri's look, fixed typos, corrected cell names and fixed some wrong factions.
3/26: Added merchants to Dragon Bridge. Also fixed grey face bug.
3/25: Added merchants to Kynesgrove. Quickfix to AI of Ivarstead Smithy's pet, who was being aggressive to the player.
3/24: Added services to Karthwasten.
3/23: Added merchants to Morthal and Shor's Stone.
3/21: Added merchant to Dawnstar.
3/20: Moved blacksmith amenities in Rorikstead. Added merchants to Ivarstead.
3/19: Initial release.

I originally made this mod for the Steam Workshop. Link here. To install, place the files in your 'SteamSteamAppsCommonSkyrimData' folder. Then activate the mod through your preferred launcher by ticking the checkbox next to the esp.
