Racial Skills & Stats Redone

RSSR changes starting racial skill and stats to be a bit more faith full to Morrowind and Oblivion - I've made a sort of a hybrid of these and took some liberties in the case of Argonians and Imperials. Starting Health, Magic, Stamina and Carry Weight (300 was ridiculous so I've reduced it significantly) are also different for each race.

Additionally, racial powers have been modified to be actually somewhat useful and racial bonuses are added as a single fortify effect, so you can do bit more leveling for example - check the pictures to get a better idea of what I'm talking about.

- If you are updating from earlier version you must open the console, type "player.resurrect", save your game, exit to menu and then load the game for some of the changes to take effect.



When redefining the starting skills and stats I've consulted the TES lore as well as Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim bonuses . Thought in the end I've had to improvise a bit, especially with racial powers, to preserve some balance and diversity between races. Here's what I've came up with:

+10 to Alteration, Enchanting; +5 to Conjuration, Destruction, Illusion, Restoration
Highborn - Fortify speechcraft by 20 points and regenarate magicka 25x faster for 60 seconds. Once per day.

-=====- Breton: -=====-

130W - 100H - 120M - 100S *
+10 to Conjuration, Restoration; +5 to Alchemy, Alteration, Illusion, Speech
Dragonskin - Absorb 50% of the magicka from hostile spells and fortify health and armor by 25 points for 60 seconds. Once per day.

140W - 90H - 110M - 110S *
+10 to Destruction, One-Handed; +5 to Archery, Conjuration, Light Armor, Sneak
Ancestor's Wrath - For 40 seconds, opponents that get close take 12 points per second of fire damage (ignores resistance). Destruction spells are 10% stronger for 60 seconds. Once per day.

+10 to Illusion, Lockpicking; +5 to Alchemy, Alteration, Pickpocket, Sneak
Histskin - Invoke the power of the Hist to recover health ten times faster for 60 seconds and cure all ailments (disease and poison). Once per day.

+10 to Archery, Alchemy; +5 to Illusion, Light Armor, Pickpocket, Sneak
Command Animal - Make an animal an ally for 60 minutes. Once per day.
Hunter's Sense - Detects all movement and ranged weapons do 10% more damage for 40 seconds. Once per day.

+10 to Sneak, Pickpocket; +5 to Archery, Light Armor, Lockpicking, One-handed
Night Eye - Improved night vision for 20 seconds. Multiple times a day.
Cat's Prowess - Become invisible and move more quietly for 40 seconds. Once per day. Once per day.

160W - 110H - 80M - 100S *
+10 to Two-Handed, Heavy Armor; +5 to Block, One-handed, Smithing, Speech
Battle Cry - Restores 30 points of health. Increases melee weapon damage by 15% for 40 seconds. Targets flee for 20 seconds. Once per day. Once per day.

170W - 120H - 70M - 90S *
+10 to Heavy Armor, Smithing; +5 to Block, Enchanting, One-handed, Two-handed
Toughness - Your Orcish blood gives you 10 armor rating. Passive bonus.

160W - 100H - 80M - 110S *
+10 to One-Handed, Block; +5 to Alteration, Archery, Destruction, Smithing
Adrenaline Rush - Stamina regenerates ten times faster for 60 seconds. Slows time for 20 seconds. Once per day.

150W - 100H - 100M - 100S *
+10 to Speech, Light Armor; +5 to Block, Enchanting, Lockpicking, Restoration
Voice of the Emperor - Calm nearby people for 60 seconds and all targets in the area are paralyzed for 8 seconds unless they resist. Once per day.

* W=Carry Weight; H=Health; M=Magic; S=Stamina



- When using this mod with and existing save-game the skills and carry weight change as expected. However, the new stats (Health, Magic, Stamina) only work with a new character.

- A version with vanilla skills and stats is available - in case you just want to take advantage of the racial fortify effect

- Additional files include: Slower Leveling (Werewolves and Vampire Lord also affected); No Starting Spells (Flames and Healing); Lighter Tools (reduced wight for pickaxes and woodcutting axes)

- Check the first Sticky post in comments for info on recent and future updates



Remember the LOAD ORDER is important when installing mods. To put it simple: a mod loaded on TOP of the load order will be overwritten by all the mods below and a mod loaded on the BOTTOM of the list will overwrite all the mods above - IF there is something to overwrite. I cannot tell you where to load RSSR precisely, so don't be afraid to experiment a bit.

Any other mod that somehow edits races will "conflict" with RSSR. I may provide compatibility patches for mods I consider essential or use myself though.

Currently Supported mods:

- Unnofical Patches (Skyrim - Heartfires - Dawnguard - Dragonborn)

I may add compatibility patches for other major mods if requested by enough people.


1. Unzip the rar file you chose to download into your Data folder
2. Run the Skyrim Launcher
3. Select Data Files and enable the appropriate esps
