About this mod
REQUIRES DRAGONBORN. This mod adds some of the new assets included in the Dragonborn DLC to Windhelm's Gray Quarter.
- Permissions and credits
After the release of Dragonborn I thought it would be a good idea to put some of the new assets in the Gray Quarter, to add a little bit of Morrowind flavor in the mainland. The original concept was small, just adding some of the the new lanterns and light sources here and there, nothing special. But, as usual, things grew bigger and bigger, with banners, containers, furniture, changes to some interiors... Now this mod includes changes to the vendor lists for the New Gnisis Cornerclub and Sadri's Used Wares: Rendar will sell you Morrowind beverages, like sujamma and mazte, and Sadri carries some dunmer clothing. Even better, the Gray Quarter now enjoys some completely new lanterns, courtesy of InsanitySorrow. Check that red lantern in front of the Cornerclub! (Earthly delights not included, sadly).
Incompatibilities: this mod will be perfectly and completely INcompatible with any other work that changes the exterior and interior cells of the Grey Quarter, or the merchant's lists. Although your computer won't suffer a sudden nuclear meltdown, your saved games very likely will, because things modified by one mod will be overwritten by the other, with unexpected results. I reccomend downloading Wrye Bash and making a bashed patch.
Should I install this?
------------------------
You decide. This is how you do it: unzip all the files and drop them on your Skyrim/Data folder, overwriting if asked. If you were using the first version, vendor chests have been changed, so go somewhere far from Windhelm, de-activate the mod and do a clean save before activating
the new version to make sure everything works. Also, USE WRYE BASH AND REBUILD YOUR BASHED PATCH.
Do I need Dragonborn to use this mod?
-----------------------------------------------
YES, you need Dragonborn if you want Dragonborn's new items in your game.
What changes does this new version include?
-------------------------------------------------------
Quite a few. When I made this mod I didn't have a lot of experience with the CK, and it shows. Here they are:
- Updated to the latest version of Skyrim and the CK, and cleaned with the latest TES5Edit.
- Added a temple banner and more lamps to the streets of the grey quarter.
- Reverted Revin Sadri's merchant chest to its vanilla state. Objects added to the vendor list are now in the shelves.
- Reverted Sadri's dresser to its vanilla state. The key to the basement is now in Revin's inventory.
- Fixed the New Gnisis Corner Club's chairs, and added three new banners.
- Reverted the Corner Club's merchant chest to its vanilla state and added the new sellable items directly, instead of making my own version of the chest.
- All interior navmeshes have been modified to account for the new statics added to some of the cells, instead of using collision boxes set to navcut. Exterior navmesh still uses the boxes, for I assume any mod changing Windhelm in some way will pay more attention to the exteriors.
