Update: Most codepages are available now. Note: The codepage selection only takes effect when opening or saving a file as the areas of text on the app itself are unicode.
Allows you to create/modify .(IL|DL)STRINGS files for your mods. From what people have told me, it works well in conjunction with this app: http://skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2889
The author of the tool linked above was nice enough to share some info with me that is pretty good info to have when creating your string files. Here's what I was told (these are unconfirmed - if you can confirm it let me know):
"STRINGS seems to be for FULL records
DLSTRINGS seems to be for DESC records
ILSTRINGS I believe is for dialog strings"
It is in a very crude state because initially it was just something for me to use for translating other apps, but it works. I may make it a bit prettier in the future, but right now it's uncertain, however other codepages _will_ be supported.
There is an automatic backup system in place where instead of overwriting a file it will move the original to <whatever>.backup, however if that file already exists a backup will not be made.<br><br>The string ids should auto-increment when adding new strings, so you can quickly move to the next string edit box by hitting tab 2 times and not have to worry about a numbering system if you don't want to.<br><br>This does reproduce the files exactly as they are in my Data\Strings\ folder, so they should work for mod production, though bugs are possible.<br><br><br><br><br><br>Feel free to ask questions in the comments if you have them.<br><br><strong>Change log:</strong><br>1.2 - 1.3<br>Fixed the string "duplication" bug for .STRINGS files when a null string was entered.<br>1.1 - 1.2<br>0-length strings no longer throw exceptions<br>1.0 - 1.1<br>- Added multiple codepages<br>- Added a second column to display the hex value of the ID (for easier input into esm/esp/etc files)<br><br><strong>Special Note:</strong> If you did not download this from a site listed below, you have downloaded it from an unauthorized source and will receive no assistance with it.<br><br>skyrimnexus.com</whatever>
