Setup

It’s recommend to disable Anti Aliasing (AA) and Anisotropic Filtering from Skyrim’s graphical options. This will provide the most performance with minor graphical loss.

Nvidia Users should force FXAA for Skyrim through the graphic card control panel or through NvidiaInspector. This will provide a big boost to quality with minimal performance loss.

SETTING UP SkyrimPrefs.INI

Goto your SkyrimPrefs.ini file (typically found in C:/users/(computers name)/mydocuments/mygames/Skyrim/)

Find and alter the following lines to read.

bFloatPointRenderTarget=1
bTreesReceiveShadows=1
bDrawLandShadows=1
bShadowsOnGrass=1

Installation

Open the Gothic.Rar file. Open the “Main – Quality setting” folder and extract all the files to your Skyrim folder (ie c:/programfiles/steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim/).

Option File Installation – Install the files from the “Main-Quality setting” folder first. Open the folder for the optional setting you require (ie “Performance” folder). Select the file and move it to the Skyrim folder (ie c:/programfiles/steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim/) overwriting any previous files.

Features

Dark tones, realistic setting and vibe

Quality Mode

Non- Intrusive DOF and Bokeh DOF. The DOF setting in this mod will initiate generally only when the player character is right up to an object or when speaking to a non player character. It will not interfere with short or long combat including Archery.
Ambient Occlusion – Balanced to what I believe gives the best picture quality and performance.

Performance Mode

performance mode will include everything which “Quality” mode incorporates except Anisotropic Filtering, DOF/Bokeh DOF and Ambient Occulision. This will give the best performance.

Recommend Mods for this ENB Preset

Project Reality – Climates of Tamriel Final version – I use this mod and it makes the game look a lot better. It also works very nicely with ENB.

Enhanced Light and FX – Recommend for interior lighting.

FAQ

This ENB is too Bright/Dark

I recommend adjusting the brightness in-game or through your monitors/GPU settings to suit what you believe is best. Every user’s brightness/contrast setting will be varied depending on their monitor and GPU/Monitor.

The Nights are too bright/Dark

The nights in this mod are a touch brighter than Vanilla Skyrim’s. This was done to keep the integrity of the original game and also because I believe it’s what looked best. If you would like darker nights in the game there’s many good lighting mods which were created with the construction kit and do not conflict with this ENB which can be used. One example is the mod Project Reality – Climates of Tamriel which can alter nights to make them appear darker.
