Garrik is a Ranger and a drunk.
He has mad Marksmen and sneak skills, but in close combat using his lucky tankard is a force to be reckoned with.
Find Garrik at Shor's Watchtower and offer him a bottle of ale or mead, and you'll have a friend for life.
This drunken master of the bow and tankard can be a faithful follower as long as the ale or mead does not run out.
If you arrive at Shor's watchtower between 7 and 11 in the evening, he won't be there since he wanders over to Shor's Stone to socialize with the locals.
Garrik is essential and stand-alone, with his own unique bow and armour.
Though marriable, if he's drunk enough, he may just marry you the second time.
He comes complete with his own dwelling (Shor's Watchtower complete with bedroll), but very few player characters would want to live there.
He can...um...well, if it isn't my favorite drinking buddy...follow you anywhere.
When sober enough, Garrik is a passible thief with some of their skills and if you find his hand in your pocket, it's more than likely he's more interested in your ale than gold ;)

1) Extract the contents of the ZIP folder into your Data folder
2) Make sure the GarrikFollower.esp is checked in the Launcher

Installing the Mod
1) Extract the contents of the archive to a temporary folder.
2) Copy the extracted archive to [Install Path]SkyrimNMMMods.
3) Start Nexus Mod Manager
4) Click the Create button
5) Click the Add Archive button, navigate to the archive and select it, then click the Yes button.
6) Click the Create button, wait until it finishes, then click the Ok button.
Activating the Mod
1) Start Nexus Mod Manager
2) Double-click the name of the mod, once installed the mod icon will turn blue.
If you're updating
Overwrite files and enjoy... that's it! :-)

2) Uncheck and delete GarrikFollower.esp in the Launcher

1) Start Nexus Mod Manager
2) Double click the mod to deactivate it, once finished the icon will turn green
None - Please report if any.
This is not an issue but good to know.
After giving Garrik a drink and then asking him to follow. He will do a revelers dance for about 30 seconds before he proceeds to follow you.
He will do this every time you offer him a drink through the "offer drink" dialog. You only need to put-up with this once to trigger the follower quest dialog.
Also, you need a bottle of Ale or Mead in your inventory to trigger Garrik's dialog.
If you don't he will just make random comments.You can find ale and mead by his bedroll under the stairs in the Watchtower.
Sometimes Garrik is picky with armour you want him to wear. I've lowered his armours rating to help fix this.
He's essential so no worrying about him dying. ;)
Has been a report of Garrik attacking the player or other followers. I'm guessing he doesn't react too kindly to friendly fire. To remedy this issue I removed his invulnerability. If this doesn't work I recommend the mod "No Friendly Fire" by phinix. Garrik version 1.2 will be compatable with this mod.
