This mod adds a huge castle with it's own quest. The quest gives you 2+ hours of gameplay & exploration with custom enemies and companions.The Castle is south-east of Ivarstead, it's spouse and companion friendly, it is also carefully furnished and has custom ambient sounds and generally it's a cool house for every character. There are three versions of the same Castle that you can choose from, one for normal characters(Mortal), one for vampires and one for werewolves. You can become the lord of the castle after finishing the quest. Just speak to Clove, wait for him in the throne room at Castle's Court. If you enjoy this mod please endorse.

IMPORTANT: To start the quest simply visit Whiterun
and wait for the courier to give you the letter from Jarl.
Read the letter and you are ready to begin.

IMPORTANT: This mod has very high lvl enemies. It is for characters 35-81lvl. Play at Master only if you are level 60 and above. I played the mod with an 81lvl Warrior at new Legendary difficulty,
armed with a legendary Deadric warhammer(damage 500+) and the mod was still quite challenging.

THREE VERSIONS TO CHOOSE FROM...
CHOOSE THE APPROPRIATE CASTLE VERSION FOR YOUR CHARACTER.

Vampire Version:
In the Vampire version you get the same old
atmospheric Castle.

Mortal Version:
In the mortal version after finishing the quest the curse
is lifted and the castle becomes a hospitable place again.
That means the darkness is reduced, the Cobwebs and rubbles are
removed. The Castle gets extra decoration and
generally it is brought back to it's former glory.

Werewolf Version:
In the werewolf version after finishing the quest the curse
turns the castle to a werewolf lair, your own werewolf lair.
All castle rooms and corridors gain a mysterious reddish aura and
some castle rooms change in order to fit in the werewolf character.

IMPORTANT:You cannot use two or all three versions at the same time! Read installation instructions.


AFTER FINISHING THE QUEST:
YOU CAN BECOME THE LORD OF CASTLE RAVENBURG
by talking to the Castle's Caretaker Clove.
He will be waiting for you at Castle's Court,
if he is not there just pull the chain
next to the throne to call him there.
Clove will give you the options to:
-Hire Castle Guards
-Hire a Blacksmith-Merchant(at Castle Laboratory)
-Hire a Court Alchemist-Merchant
-Hire a Court Wizard-Merchant
-Hire a Court General Merchant
-Hire a Court Bard(Mortal Version) or Jester(Vampire Version) or wolf pets(Werewolf Version)
-He will also give you a Teleportation Tome
This book will teleport you instantly to important Castle Rooms
and Skyrim cities(Vampire Version).

-43 Mannequins (In case you miss them, 40 of the mannequins are located in the basement of the barracks tower. The entrance to the barracks tower is located opposite of the castle's main building entrance in the courtyard. Three more mannequins are located in rooms of weeping on the second floor.)

** The Castle is fully navmeshed and tested. **

** It has no LOD but you will not have
problems with flying windows and walls. **

WARNING:
-If you use this castle as your home, remove any items that
you have placed inside, before updating. I am not responsible
for lost items after updates.
-If you play the Mortal or Werewolf version do not place
inside the Castle any valuables until you finish the quest.
- There are a lot of secret passages, take your time
to search the Castle carefully for levers torches,
buttons etc, you will not regret it!
A small TIP: When you find a secret door behind a
wardrobe, search the enviroment around it, there are
switches(custom hotspots, like torches attached to
wall, statues etc) that will reveal those secret passages.
I HAVE ALSO UPLOADED A SCREENSHOT GUIDE TO HELP YOU.
- It is very dark inside the Castle. If you
don't have spells that illuminate your path,
you can use the castle's torches, there are plenty.
-If you later use this as a player home, put your
items in empty chests located in front of beds,
I am not responsible for lost items after updates.

To complete the quest from Console:
If you are the kind of person that you are too lazy to play the quest, something I totally discourage and you want to make the castle yours right away you have to use the console in order to finish the quest. Remember this will work only for the Mortal and the Werewolf version of the mod. For the vampire version you still have to clear it from monsters. Stand outside the castle open the console with ~ then type:
SetStage TescosLurkingInTheShadowsQuest 50
type ~ to close the console. Hit ok on the quest's textbox that will show up. Enter the castle from any exterior gate. The Castle is now yours!






Two new followers:

-Nikolai Van Helsing: a mage specialized to destroy undead.

-Tormented soul: A headless ghost warrior(just like the headless horseman).

*Since there are two unique followers I suggest you to play this mod with UFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul mod installed. You can find it here:

Several other characters:

-Count Bran Von Lurk: The villain

Just a Suggestion:
if you are married and use this castle as your home,

to make your spouse go there.

IMPORTANT: SKYRIM MUST BE UPDATED BEFORE INSTALLING

- My suggestion is to try to install the mod manually and not use automatic installation that NMM provides because, some times I've noticed that you end up with the mod installed, but with missing files(textures, scripts etc). Download the Mod manually. When finished downloading open NMM go to mods tab, click on the first button on the left (puzzle piece with a plus) a file browser will open, in there select the mod file and click the button open. Then go to the mod tree category "Castle Palaces Mansions & Estates" find and select my mod and click the second button from the left (puzzle piece with a green arrow facing right). A progress bar will appear and if everything goes well, a message will appear that the mod was successfully activated.

IMPORTANT:
When first time in-game(with the mod active)
1)Make a new save, 2)exit game, 3)run game, 4)load previous savegame

IMPORTANT ABOUT HAVING ALLREADY A VERSION AND INSTALLING ANOTHER VERSION:

-First of all before installing another version REMOVE ALL YOUR VALUABLE ITEMS FROM
THE CASTLE. You will not have access to the same cells after update, and you may lose
all your items inside the previous version.

-IF YOU HAVE ALLREADY INSTALLED ANOTHER VERSION, UNINSTALL IT BEFORE
INSTALLING ANOTHER ONE.

-You cannot use all versions at the same time. That's impossible.

-If you have already summoned the undead guards of the Vampire Version, don't worry
they won't bother you. The newest mortal guards that you hired will replace them.

-You must replace the teleportation book that you already own with another one because
the old teleportation volume won't work at all with the new version. To do this just
ask Clove about what happened to the Count again, continue the dialogue until he gives
you the book again. If Clove doesn't have the above dialogue option quit and re-run the game.

-If in your latest save game you are inside the castle, exit the Castle and re-enter it from
any outside gate.

TROUBLESHOOT
-Usually a crash at start up is a load order issue. Try to change the load order, place the mod last in the list. If you don't know how to do this take a look here:

-if the courier doesn't come to give you the letter
or If the quest doesn't start type ~ to open
console and then type:
setstage TescosLurkingInTheShadowsQuest 20

KNOWN ISSUES
-While playing the quest don't use Autorun. You may miss some
quest scenes that explain the plot, if you keep using it all the time.
-Summoned guards tend to be hostile when you get close to them or
not attacking player's enemies at all.

INCOMPATIBILITIES
This mod may be incompatible with other mods that use the courier quest system.

VERSION LOG:

VERSION 2.0.Final CHANGES
-Removed navmesh deletions.
I am so excited for this new update. Finally, the mod reached version 2.0. This final update has some very important changes made by the Nexus community member Ablaze666. Thanks to Ablaze666 we got rid of the nasty navmesh deletions that I could not clean for all the mod's versions. Ablaze contact me and gave a final solution to this problem. BOSS will not give anymore errors about navmesh deletions and you can install any mod next to mine without any issues or fears for CTDs. I can't thank Ablaze666 enough for his wonderful contribution to this mod and the community.

NEW VERSION 1.8 CHANGES
-Added a Church Organ inside the old chapel(the organ can play music when activated).
-Removed the condition to be a vampire in order to hire castle
guards. I made this change to avoid any conflicts with vampire
overhauls. Now you can summon undead guards even if you are not a vampire.
-Added an Armory(Barracks Tower) with 40 Mannequins and lots of weapon racks,
a forge and an enchanting table.
-Merged Cells: Entry Hall, Corridors of despair, Great Hall,
Dinning Room, Hall of faith into one cell(No Loading Screens anymore).
-You can now hire a vampire Court Jester.
-Cleaned with tes5Edit.
-Fixed several other issues.

VERSION 1.7 CHANGES
-You can now hire a Court Alchemist(vampire only).
-You can now hire a Court Wizard(vampire only).
-You can now hire a Court General Merchant(vampire only).
-Fixed Clove never found after quest finishes.
-Fixed laboratory Blacksmith is always in lab.

VERSION 1.6(Older) CHANGES

Now By talking to clove after finishing the quest:
-If you are a vampire now you can hire a Blacksmith-
Merchant in Laboratory(talk to Clove after finishing the quest)
