Adds ruined Oblivion Gates at several locations around the province, and in some of the regions added by the Dawnguard DLC. Scenic mod only, the gates won't take you anywhere.

Oblivion Gates Version 3.2

Traducción española (needs update)
Traduction française, courtoisie de la Confrérie des Traducteurs (needs update)

NEW VERSION: the files have been updated to the latest patch. I've also included (finally) a version compatible con the Inigo follower mod. Use one or the other, not both versions at the same time.

*What is this?*
---------------------
Skyrim is filled to the brim with ancient ruins, and something as new (chronologically speaking) as the Oblivion Gates are nowhere to be seen? Not anymore. This mod adds ruined Gates at several locations around the province, with their own map/travel markers, using Hanaisse's models and textures. I've decided not to include her alternative textures to reduce the size of the file. My mod uses:

- obgate003.dds, for the gates.
- obspike01.dds, for the spike.

Both with their accompanying normal maps. If you don't like them, download her mod by clicking here, choose a different set, and rename them to the ones I used, or change the models in Nifskope.

NOTE: the gates are closed and ruined. They won't take you anywhere.

*How do I install this awesome modification?*
--------------------------------------------------------
First things first. If you were using one of the earlier versions, I suggest you deactivate the mod, run Skyrim, save the game in some interior location, return to Windows, and only then, activate the new version.
You will lose whatever objects you may have found near the Gates, but considering the changes made in version 3.0 are quite important, I think this is the safer course of action.

Now, in the downloads section you will find four main files:

- Oblivion Gates v3. Only covers the holds from the original Skyrim game. No special requirements.
- Oblivion Gates v3 - Inigo Compatible. Same, but one of the gates has been re-located to avoid overlapping with the new pieces added by the Inigo follower mod.
- Oblivion Gates v3 Skyrim and Dawnguard DLC. This file will put Oblivion Gates in Skyrim and two of the regions added by the Dawnguard DLC. Obviously, requieres Dawnguard to work.
- Oblivion Gates v3 Skyrim and Dawnguard DLC - Inigo Compatible. Same, with compatibility for Inigo.

To install the mod follow the next steps:

1. Choose only one of the files and download it.
2. Unzip all the contents in your Skyrim/Data folder, overwriting everything if asked.
3. Each file includes two plugins, one with travel markers for every Gate, one without them. ACTIVATE ONLY ONE OF THE PLUGINS.
4. Run the game.

*I see an optional file too. Should I get it?*
----------------------------------------------------
The file "Models with Speculars enabled" includes all of the gate, rock and spike models for the mod, but modified to enable specular highlights. It means they will shine when light from the sun or a torch hits them, just like in TES 4: Oblivion.

To use them, just unzip the contents of this file in your Skyrim/Data folder, and overwrite everything. If you don't like the effect, you'll have to overwrite the models again with those from one of the main files.

*Wait, there's a file called 'SPOILER - Gate locations and related cells - SPOILER'. What is it about?*
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly what it says. If you are unable to find all the gates (which shouldn't be difficult, but hey, you never know), this file includes a short description of each gate location, along with their cell coordinates, so you can find them in the Creation Kit, or make sure I didn't drop a gate in the middle of your nordic palace full of big-breasted women lore-friendly house mod.

*How useful! Thanks!*
----------------------------
Yeah, I'm usually that awesome.
