A Simple Save System for Skyrim
NOTICE: If you find a bug, please report it! I can't fix it if I don't know about it. Also, send me a PM to contact me quicker if you have problems.
OverviewHave you ever wondered why Skyrim only performs auto saves when you change locations or access your menu system?
Sometimes death is unavoidable. Especially if you play on Master difficulty with Skyrim Scaling Stopper like I do. This simple mod performs an automatic save every 2 minutes. Options are available for less frequent auto save times.
If you want to change the number of auto-saves that your game can perform, c00ky has kindly pointed out:
QUOTETo increase the amount of autosaves Skyrim creates, open the Skirim.INI located in "C:Users[your username here]DocumentsMy GamesSkyrim" folder and look for the following section within:
If your Skyrim.INI doesn't contain this section or the following line, simply add it to the bottom of the .ini file (I don't actually believe it matters where you put it in the file). Change the XXX to the amount of Autosave files you'd like it to create, and voila!
Requirements, Installation, and Load OrderREQUIREMENTS: This mod requires the following other to mods be installed.
- Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) by Ian Patterson, Stephen Abel and Paul Connelly
INSTALLATION: Nexus Mod Manager has (incorrectly) decided that any mod beginning with SkyRealism is the same mod. When installing SkyRealism mods, it may display a message saying: "A different version of SkyRealism - XXX has been detected. The installed version is XXX, the new version is XXX Would you like to upgrade? Selecting No will install the new Mod normally." You should click "No.", so that it will install the mod normally. It may give you warnings that certain files will be over-written. You should select "Yes to all" so that it will update any existing files to the latest versions.
Credits and ThanksThanks to Cordsnwires, Elys, Dogtown1, Dragten, Hothtrooper44, Ironman5000, Is this display name taken?, JaySuS, Nikinoodles, Nivea, MECR, Merilia, PrivateEye, theRoadstroker, and Tupii for giving me permission to use their mods as master file requirements for my own mods.
Thanks to T3nd0, Cordsnwires, and jjc71 for the suggestions, guidance, and support. Thanks to trainwiz, wobbuvahi, and David Brasher for making the mods that kept me hooked on Skyrim long after it should have lost its appeal.
Compatibility, Issues, and TroubleshootingThis mod should not have any issues or compatibility problems.
Added Global SkyRealismAutoSaveTimer = Number of seconds between auto saves.
Script added which performs an autosave every number of seconds specified by the AutoSaveTimer.
