Sorry if my English is not the best ;)
When reforging very old Weapons, the first thing I would replace´, is the wood. I found the Textures of the nord-hero weapons always too "one-coloured", so here´s my retexture with brown leather and wood.
To Install. just extract the .rar file with WinRar or 7zip and copy the "textures"- folder into Your Skyrim/Data directory ;)
Please also check out my other mod that removes the green color from ancient nordic weapons ;)

....also, I don´t know if this works with dawnguard because I don´t own it yet....
