About this mod

Changes the racial abilities and traits of the races in Skyrim to be more balanced and in-line with lore established in previous games. No more High Elves having no elemental weaknesses or Redguards being naturally talented in magic.

Classic Races changes the racial abilities and traits of the races in Skyrim to be more balanced and in-line with lore established in previous games. No more High Elves having no elemental weaknesses or Redguards being naturally talented in magic.


It won't blow your computer up or make your game unplayable. All the changes noted below WILL be added to your game as long as the mod is loaded correctly.


Altmer (High Elf)

Bonus attributes:
Magicka +50

Skill bonuses:
Destruction +10 /was Illusion
Alchemy +5 /was Restoration
Illusion +5
Alteration +5
Conjuration +5
Enchanting +5

Resists and weaknesses:
Resist Disease 75% /new
Frost, Fire, Shock Weakness 25% /new

Powers:
Highborn function unchanged, but now also suppresses the elemental weakness.


Argonian

Bonus attributes:
+50% swimming speed /new

Skill bonuses:
Lockpicking +10
Pickpocket +5
Sneak +5
One-handed +5 /was Alteration
Alchemy +5 /was Restoration
Illusion +5 /was Light Armor

Resists and weaknesses:
Resist Disease 75% /was 50%
Resist Poison 100% /new

Powers:
Waterbreathing and Histskin unchanged.


Bosmer (Wood Elf)

Skill bonuses:
Archery +10
Sneak +5
Alteration +5 /was Lockpicking
Pickpocket +5
Light Armor +5
Alchemy +5

Resists and weaknesses:
Resist Disease 75% /was 50% to disease and poison

Powers:
Duration of Command Animal increased to 10 minutes. /was 60s


Breton

Bonus attributes:
Magicka +20 /new

Skill bonuses:
Conjuration +10
Illusion +5
Restoration +5
Speech +5
Alchemy +5
Alteration +5

Resists and weaknesses:
Resist Magic 15% /was 25%

Powers:
Dragonskin changed to 50% magicka absorb for 30s. /was 60s


Dunmer (Dark Elf)

Destruction +10
One-handed +5 /was Alchemy
Illusion +5
Sneak +5
Light Armor +5
Archery +5 /was Alteration

Resists and weaknesses:
Resist Fire 75% /was 50%

Powers:
Ancestor's Wrath unchanged.


Imperial

Speech +10 /was Restoration
Two-handed +5 /was Destruction
Light Armor +5 /was Heavy Armor
One-handed +5 /
Block +5
Archery +5 /was Enchanting

Powers:
Voice of the Emperor is a Lesser Power that now increases Speech by 30 for 10 seconds. /was "Calms nearby people for 60s"
Imperial Luck unchanged, planned to change in future versions.


Khajiit

Bonus attributes:
+15% movement speed /new
+15 unarmed damage /was +12, changed to match description

Skill bonuses:
Sneak +10
Lockpicking +5
Pickpocket +5
Light Armor +5 /was Alchemy
One-handed +5
Archery +5

Powers:
Night Eye duration made "unlimited" (the tooltip will say it lasts for -1s, but in reality its duration is 4294967295 seconds, almost 50 days). /was 60s


Nord

Skill bonuses:
Two-handed +10
One-handed +5
Block +5
Smithing +5
Speech +5
Light Armor +5

Resistances and weaknesses:
Resist Frost 50%

Powers: Battle Cry changed for Woad. Woad gives your character a sudden burst of power by increasing armor with 75 for 30 seconds, it also staggers anyone nearby for two seconds. /was "Targets flee for 30s"


Orsimer (Orc)

Bonus attributes:
+20 health /new, might be unbalanced, could change

Skill bonuses:
Heavy Armor +10
Smithing +5
One-handed +5
Two-handed +5
Block +5
Enchanting +5

Resists and weaknesses:
Resist Magic 15% /new

Powers:
Berserk unchanged. Not planned to change.


Redguard

Skill bonuses:
One-handed +10
Heavy Armor +5 /was Alteration
Block +5
Smithing +5
Two-handed +5 /was Destruction
Light Armor +5 /was Archery

Resists and weaknesses:
Resist Poison, Disease 75% /was Poison 50%

Powers:
Adrenaline Rush stamina regen nerfed to 20 (was 50), slight movement increase and +30 health/stamina added. /was "Stamina regenerates 50x faster for 60s"



Changelog

Cleaned up bad edits.
Highborn resist buffs now have the correct duration.
Woad now actually staggers nearby targets, stagger duration increased to 2s.
Voice of the Emperor duration changed to 10s.
Khajiit Night Eye is now properly toggleable with an almost unlimited duration.
Breton Dragonskin reverted back to 50% magic absorb, duration changed to 30s.

Vampire support added.
Voice of the Emperor changed to Lesser Power with a 2 second duration, enough to give a big boost whenever the player initiates conversation, but not long enough to get the boost whenever they are caught off-guard (i.e. when an NPC initiates conversation).
Altmer Magicka bonus down to +50 again, was too much combined with their new Disease Resist.

Fixed Redguard's Adrenaline Rush, it should now increase movement speed as intended.
Increased Argonian swimming speed boost to 50%.
Changed Dragonskin and Woad to not replace magical armor buffs.
Added Woad Power to Nords in place of Battle Cry.
