Example of v2.2 circlet

AEterna Circlets is the very first mod on the Nexus to change and improve the appearance of the various circlets in Skyrim. The textures were increase to make a high-res, high quality project, without detracting from the feel of vanilla Skyrim.

Quick (new)

Now also you can download so-called Basic versions. These are simple NMM compatible packs with the most recent and most refined projects. If you don't like to mess with files, you can use these versions to quickly install the mod and go back to your game. The description below is dedicated to "AEterna Circlets Big Pack" due to many graphical options you can use in that version.

Manually

1. Download the circlets archive (AEterna Circlets Big Pack). It contains all possible circlet combinations.
2. Open the archive using 7zip or WinRAR.
3. Extract the 'Textures' folder within the archive to your Skyrim/Data folder.
a) If you use Steam version of Skyrim and Windows 7 or Vista, usually this will be: C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/SteamApps/common/Skyrim/Data. If you use another OS, or have moved your Skyrim folder out of the Steam directory, you will have to find it yourself.
b) Standalone version (non-Steam). In Windows 7 or Vista, usually this will be: C:/Program Files (x86)/The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim/Data.
4. (Optional) Go into the 'Options' file and follow the instructions in the Readme there.
4. Play.

Optional Files

To preview the optional files, you will need to have a program that can open .dds files, such as Photoshop or GIMP with a .dds plug-in, or use Paint.NET which can already use .dds files, to be able to preview the options yourself. Otherwise, look at the screenshots available here to decide which options you prefer.

For further information, read the readme in the 'Options' folder.

Delete all the files you installed. These are:

Skyrim/Data/textures/armor/circlets/circlet.dds
Skyrim/Data/textures/armor/circlets/circlet_m.dds
Skyrim/Data/textures/armor/circlets/circlet_n.dds
Skyrim/Data/textures/armor/circlets/circletcorondrum.dds
Skyrim/Data/textures/armor/circlets/circletgold.dds
Skyrim/Data/textures/armor/circlets/circletsilver.dds
Skyrim/Data/textures/armor/circlets/circletstones.dds
Skyrim/Data/textures/armor/circlets/circletstones_n.dds

As for the circlets you can also find very promising project here: Better Circlets HQ by Yuril
And here: JewelCraft by Happy Spike (due to questions about compatibility between the last one and the mod presented here - I can assure they are compatible)
