A simple mod that should make Meeko and Vigilance work better for stealth players. They no longer affect the player's stealth rating and are less aggresive, meaning that they don't attack until the player or their allies engage in combat.
This version also makes both dogs essential (they don't die). I may release an alternate version if requested.
There is now an optional version included in the downloads section that also makes the dogs barks and whimpers quieter when you crouch. This doesn't effect stealth in any way, but makes things more realistic.
Install: Best to use NMM to download (will be listed as Dog_Stealth_v1.0). Otherwise, copy the .esp to your Skyrim\Data folder.
Uninstall: Delete the .esp
v1.1 - Cleaned up dirty edits within the module file using TES5Edit. Integrated optional file into main version which makes dog barks quieter while crouched because why not.
v1.0 - Initial release. Silent version included as optional file.
