I have made 162 new ground textures for the Hoddminir project and I thought I would share it with you.
The resolution is 2048 px, and all textures are seamless and have normals. There are new grass, moss, leaves, sand and rock textures, with two different color variants of each, in total 324 textures.
Some of the textures will look good on larger areas, but others have details that make them a bit repetitive and probably work better as smaller details.
There are many different kinds of textures, some colorful and some more dull. All may not be useful for you, but hopefully some will be.

I also made a small world space, GroundTexture.esp, with all the textures painted so anyone can see how they look in game, COW in at coordinates 3,3, the worldspace is called Groundtexture.

I have added an Image Library of all textures as seen in game, and Snufkin made a Modders Catalogue of Hoddminir Textures that includes these ground textures.

Install

Un-zip files
Copy texture dds files to the Skyrim/Data/Texture/landscape folder

For the esp LOD files, copy everything in to the same folder structure as in the zip file.

How to add new textures in the Creation kit
=========
1. Open the Creation Kit, in the Object window, go to Miscellaneous and TextureSet, right click in the window and choose New (or edit an original).
2. Fill in the name you want for your texture set and add textures to Diffuse and Normal with the Edit button (browse to the Landscape folder). Press OK.
3. Go to LandTextures (in Miscellaneous), right click and select New (or edit an original).
4. Give the texture a unique ID, change the Material Type and Friction. Select the Texture Set you just made from the drop down menu. Press OK.
