ABOUT ULTRA REALISTIC WORLD LIGHTING

MARCURIOS, prolific author of awesome mods with the URWL "brand" (as well as many others), is back at it...

He has created a simple to use, no nonsense, no hassle revamp of SKYRIM!

Behold! ULTRA REALISTIC WORLD LIGHTING for SKYRIM!

He won't be joining us here on the NEXUS, but has allowed me (a friend and frequent collaborator) to post his latest offering for all to use. I'll field comments as best I can and the puzzlers I'll send along to him for comment.

HOW DOES URWL WORK?

URWL for SKYRIM offers a revamped SKYRIM weather and lighting style with ZERO PERFORMANCE LOSS, with NO EXTERNAL FILES to change, NO INIs to dig through and NO hassle.

Basically, that means, install the mod using NMM, activate it and blammo... it's working seamlessly behind the scenes.

It alters the world's "look" to make SKYRIM more vibrant. This is achieved by meticulously rejiggering each weather cycle in-game.

It is completely compatible with THE IMAGINATOR for SKYRIM and DYNAVISION - Dynamic Depth of Field for SKYRIM...

... so you may further customize the look of the game to suit your preferences. Pretty cool!

BESIDES IMAGINATOR AND DYNAVISION, WHAT'S URWL COMPATIBLE WITH?

For the most part, I'd say it's compatible with everything (obviously, that's an overstatement).

When using it in conjunction with another weather/lighting mod, the ESP that is LAST in the load-order will "win".

Since URWL contains no scripts and no INI alterations, you can try it out at no risk. Like it? Keep it. Don't like it? Deactivate and delete... and you're back to whatever you were at before hand.

Now, I know you're going to ask... is URWL compatible with REALISTIC LIGHTING. The answer is "yes, but they'll likely override each other in many (or all) places". That's not likely to cause a CTD, but you may get unexpected results...

You're also going to ask... is URWL compatible with my "insert ENB CONFIGURATION of choice"? The answer is also : YES. Combining ENB with URWL will give you a whole new look with no additional FPS loss.

COMBINE WITH IMAGINATOR for EXCITING RESULTS!

URWL on its own brings more "oomph" and clarity to the world of SKYRIM. To some, this is exactly what the doctor ordered...

... but, if you find that maybe it's too saturated, combine with IMAGINATOR and tweak to your heart's content.

URWL can be looked at as a COMPLEX TEMPLATE alternative to vanilla.

FAQS and FMNs
(Frequently Asked Questions and Frequently Mentioned Nonsense)

Y'KNOW, THIS ISN'T REALLY "REALISTIC"

That's what YOU say... however, please bear in mind two things:

1 - This is a work-in-progress being created by a fellow with different perceptions than you. Don't like it? Tweak it with IMAGINATOR or shut up and don't use it... however, constructive criticism is welcome in the comments thread. Remember MYGOODEYE'S first rule: BC>BAD (being constructive is better than being a dick).

2 - "ULTRA REALISTIC WORLD LIGHTING" is, in effect, a BRAND NAME by now with many mod-users. If it helps you to come to terms with this fact, please consider it a "misnomer" or remember that the United States TV NETWORK MTV used to mean MUSIC TELEVISION and that SYFY used to mean SCIENCE FICTION TELEVISION.

SKYRIM WEATHER AND LIGHTING AT ZERO PERFORMANCE LOSS
[color=c0cacc]
That's right... NO PERFORMANCE LOSS. URWL uses "in-game-engine" effects and colors to keep its resource use to nearly nothing.

If you have comments/questions or just good wishes... post 'em in COMMENTS!
