Description

Adds a new male only armor, styled after the amazing cleric armor for females.

To install multiple unique variants, install the Male Cleric Armor - Variants mod.

This is a non-replacer, and adds a new armor called Cleric armor to the game. You can select what armor type to use (heavy, light, cloth) and that choice determines both the weight and stats of the armor in-game. Light and cloth choices can be crafted under the leather crafting perk, while heavy armor is crafted under the ebony category. In all cases we have taken care to ensure the stats are reasonable and balanced. Heavy armor closely follows the base ebony stats, while light armor is very close to dragon plate stats. The crafting recipes are variations of the basic Ebony armor recipes adjusted for the type of armor in question; but there are some important differences that will make acquiring the required ingredients a slight challenge.

Version 2 adds many new features and fixes, including:
  • 9 Torso armor variants
  • 4 Hand armor variants
  • 7 Rune color options
  • Helmet and hood options
  • Bundled body tattoo options by Chidosity
  • Optional chainmail and leather skin replacement options
  • Choice of cloth, light, or heavy armor
  • Support for visible amulets on bare chested torso armor variants
  • Improved weight slider support for most torso armor variants
  • All textures re-exported with higher quality to remove compression artifacts

Crafting

The crafting recipes can be located under either leather or ebony depending on the choice of armor rating. If you select light or cloth for armor rating during installation, the crafting recipes will be located under the leather category. If you select the heavy armor rating, the crafting recipes will be located under the ebony category.

Installation

Nexus Mod Manager is strongly recommended for installation.
If you choose to install the plugin manually, you will need to make several choices about how and what to install.
  • Download and unzip the mod archive.
  • Copy the meshes and texture directories from Required to your skyrim data folder.
  • Copy the meshes directory from one of the GauntletVariant directories to your skyrim data folder.
  • Copy the meshes directory from one of either the ArmorVariant/DefaultTex or ArmorVariant/ReplaceTex directories to your skyrim data folder.
  • The nine variants have individual pics inside the FOMOD directory. The names are identical to the directory names that contain the .nifs inside either ReplaceTex or DefaultTex.
  • If you want chainmail or leather instead of skin, use the meshes from ReplaceTex, and not from DefaultTex.
  • If you select a torso variant from one of the ArmorVariant/ReplaceTex directories, you will need to copy one of the SkinVariants to your skyrim data folder.
  • Default uses whatever skin texture you have installed right now for males.
  • Tattoo options will replace the base skin texture for all males in the game, and thus if you use DefaultTex armors, you will now have body tattoos.
  • Chainmail and Leather need a ReplaceTex armor variant, it literally replaces all skin textures with these alternates textures.
  • Copy the texture directory from one of the RuneColors directories to your skyrim data folder.
  • Copy one of the plugin options from the PluginType directory to your skyrim data folder. The choice of plugin depends on your armor variant. Classic, VeryLight, and Robed variants should use a ShowAmulet plugin. All others should use a HideAmulet plugin.
  • Activate the MaleClericArmor plugin in the DataFiles window of the Skyrim launcher.
