About this image

A sneak peek of a mod I'm working on. This here is the Fenrir Shortsword - there is also a dagger, longsword and greatsword. Stats are a bit below Daedric, but they're lighter.

The model is pretty much done, and all the variants are working in-game. I just need to put them somewhere in the world and make it possible to convert between the different types. I'm thinking of having a base "Fenrir Blade Pieces" misc item that you can convert to and from with.

Good job on the sword, I like the nordic-themed engravings on the blade and sheath.

    Great work, really nice engravings!

The crossed straps both on the handle and scabbard are just in the texture? They look a tad flat. I'd make them on the model and give them some decent volume to make the silhouette more interesting.
In the end the polycount doesn't increase that much and if it looks better then its worth it.

The concept art for the other fenrir weapons is awesome, love the axes (i wouldn't tilt it downwards, makes it more unique). Kind of missing some metallic engraved detail in the ends of the bow though.

The grips I had already edited after this render - they're more pronounced now by being lighter and having more contrast. I didn't want them to be overly thick, as thick wraps would be uncomfortable in the hand.

I haven't started on the axe yet, but I'll see how it looks at both angles. Personally I'd prefer it titled down a bit as it would resemble historical axes more, but it's probably not that big of a deal. We'll see.

So, guys, I've been drawing up some concept art for matching axes, spear and bow and arrow - should I make those and include them in an all-in-one mod? Or are you itching for the sword now?

Keep in mind that the mod will probably be delayed a while if I make the other stuff.

You should just call your mod "Fenrir Weapons" (or whatever you want), include the sword for now, and post the others later on the same mod page when they're finished. Looks amazing.

I would encourage you to speak with Ithot (maker of Beards, Brows, etc.) and discuss texturing techniques. He has a great eye for detail. Also, if you dont already have it, Quixel Suite 2.0 is a great texturing tool for a reasonable price its 40% off for the New Year!

Is that Hvergelmir? I have seen him post on the Discord server so I may post it there and ask for some advice. I did try the demo of Quixel but I couldn't get the hang of it, though the texture bases have proved useful.

An excellent blade concept. The only thing I see missing to my eye would be sharpening marks along both edges indicating a keen edge to the blade.
Otherwise a very nice blade, one I look forward to trying out on various characters.

I tried to do some edge scratches the other day, but it didn't look very natural so I scrapped them. I'll try again though, because yeah, it would make it look better.

    Thanks for the comments everyone.

I'm still tweaking the colours and stuff as I'm not completely happy with those as of now (mostly the leather) and I need some suggestions. Originally, the wraps around the grip and the scabbard were a light blue-ish colour, but I removed those as I thought they looked Stormcloak (I'd prefer these weapons had no connection to any faction).

I have darkened the leather, however this has inadvertently increased the saturation so I need to tweak that some more. The wraps will probably be lighter than the other leather, as I think it would stand out more. Also, I've made an optional black leather texture which I will include on the mod page.

One more thing: can somebody take some screenshots for me? I can take decent ones but I'm no screenarcher, and my ENB isn't particularly suited to close-ups and detail. If you're interested, I will send you the mod early (once it's done, of course) and I can get some feedback and use the screenshots on the mod page.

Cool, thanks. I'm still tweaking stuff so I might not be ready for a few days, but I'll send you a PM once it's ready.
