About this image

The user whose assets I originally used seem to rarely visit Nexus, so instead of waiting for his permission I decided to just make my own hair from a combination of free resources.

The used hairs are a mix of both human and animal (a mountain ox) which helped alleviate the problem of finding hair that isn't sleek and shiny, and at the same time not necessarily matted, like with dreadlocks.

As the picture states, this uses the same texture with a variation of different meshes from KS Hairdos. This is the best balance between a full spectrum I could achieve, from very pale platinum to pretty rich gold. Any dark tone is super-easy to make, so that was never a problem.

It is possible to go even lighter here, but if you do, you end up with good looking platinum hues, and almost no actual hay/gold-tone. It, instead, turns sharply to green hues, and the options in Racemenu are to my knowledge not sophisticated enough to balance that out.

Another thing to mention is that the mesh itself, the particular texture pattern that happen to be painted onto the locks, and the normal map of each mesh will strongly influence the overall look of the blonde hair, so there really is not absolutely perfect, uniform coloring that applies to all hairstyles.

So, there will be some amount of natural variation, which I think is perfectly fine anyway.

I do not have time right now to repaint the textures, but if there is interest I could perhaps release something in a couple of days. The good news here is that I have the full rights to release this as an add-on mod now (though you will still need the original KS hairdos, and just save over those files with my textures).

I should add that these particular examples were painted quickly, and mostly randomly in terms of highlights, but still ended up pretty good (except for the lower right blonde one, that has weirdly aligned highlights).

For actual release, I would consider the particular mesh and how it bends the texture. Some of these were literately done in 10 seconds.
