That imperial man smelled fishy from the get go and it wasn't too long before that was proven right. Thalmor getting the Silver Hand to attack the companions and force them to show their beast nature in front of the entire city..but also destroying their homes. I feel bad for them and I also understand their anger about being banished from Whiterun after losing their home and doing so much for the city.
Awesome work. Sorry for being so slow..School started for me..so already tons of homeworks haha ! I'll do my best to catch up though
A warriors lifestyle can hardly consist of sweetrolls, unless he's going for the large bellied berzerker type. Belethor had to sell his shop and is gone, but his spirit remains
The Thalmor certainly won this day, and got their own type of revenge for what happened at Northwatch Keep, even though it was really only an amusement for Shalanna. The inner circle survived, so the Companions still have a chance to make a comeback, but only time will tell
The credit for that shot goes to True Storms, I didn't have to do too much.

These images were among the most fun I have tried to make, plus I came across a gem of a mod called SSAssist which helps a lot with the lighting. The Thalmor are vicious, especially the Puppet Master who got her revenge.
So typical of the people to forget so quickly all the years of help and protection that they had given them. Always fearing anything different.

Fear does crazy things to people, especially when some of that was unnatural, as the remaining Companions could tell. On the bright side, with the entire inner circle alive still there could be opportunity to rebuild.

The images are perfect, the use of the fire makes the scene viewable and avoid what could have been too dark otherwise.
I will have to dig in in your last posts to comprehend more of few of the protagonists, both spies and Shalanna...alas I need to go to work now first

It was an interesting contrast of scenes to start out peacefully and end on that note. Usually I will use a simple torch and hide it to get some light in these dark places but the Helgen burning fire meshes worked really well because they have the added blowing fire effect.
The Archives link on top has the chapters in order and a short summary of each in case there is not any time to read them (it's pretty long now).

Excellent story - I really did not know what to expect from the main shot that I saw earlier on Flickr. A nasty plan by Shalanna and she has effectively taken them out of commission. I wonder why she wants them alive though or perhaps she felt if she tried to kill them it would be less effective or even too risky. Regardless she has certainly weakened and disrupted Whiterun. A dangerous opponent to be sure.
In opposition to the horror of the attack and loss of the companions home there was a rather sweet moment with Ysolda, Lucia, and Signar that I very much enjoyed. A very peaceful scene and you described and wrote it very well. Great name for the dog as well.
Shalanna wanted a certain kind of revenge, and their deaths were not enough. The fact that they were exposed and banished and have to live with it and figure out what happened is what is satisfying to her. I would say that if she really wanted them dead then her minion would have sent the second wave of attackers in rather than betray them (although a bunch of dead Silver Hand outside will bring more questions).
However, this does leave the entire inner circle alive and angry. I anticipate a certain Daedric Prince will be annoyed as well.
Signar has earned a bit of good fortune and making a scene like that was a bit of a challenge since I haven't done anything of that nature. Yeah, Belethor needs to be remembered

That mod does do a great job with the kids, especially with Braithe so that she doesn't look like Saffir cheated on Amren with one of the local Nords

I created several new werewolf forms in the CK and just applied different textures/meshes to each of them.
