About this image

The Rift is a beautiful region of Skyrim. I'm used to the sere beauty of much of Hammerfell. There is a majesty to the deserts of my homeland, but I've seen little to compare to these forests of birch and aspen swaying in the breezes.

At some peril I made my way through to Deepwater Crossing in search of the story. Yet though I hurried as fast as my feet would carry me, I was too late. The Imperial forces had already struck and captured Jarl Ulfric. They were taking him to Helgen. It would appear that this civil war is soon to end.

To Oblivion with it... I had come to this province in order to get a story from Ulfric Stormcloak. At least in Hammerfell there is a sentiment that in his willingness to fight the Thalmor for his beliefs it puts him ahead of our erstwhile allies. Not all of us Redguards worship the divines... many still worship the Gods we worshiped on Lost Yokuda. That is part of the reason we had the will to stop the Aldmeri Dominion after the Empire capitulated to them. The Empire was easygoing in matters of faith as long as you didn't harm others. Look at all the Daedric shrines dotting the landscape of Cyrodiil.

If the Thalmor are willing to make war over their religious beliefs just because many in the Empire venerate Talos, the deified Tiber Septim, would they stop trying to stamp out any other beliefs but theirs? That I find doubtful.

To many in Hammerfell, he is a hero. Even if I must interview him in a cell I want this story.
