This was it... The wall... a single stone, not a poured concrete, and covered by strange glyphs that resembled somehow scratches in clay with a stick or stylus. Yet it seemed to be the source of the chanting he'd been hearing in his head.
Suddenly he was certain of that... a single word began to glow... at least he assumed it was a word. His amulet tugged at it. He took a step closer and the light began to dim, all save the insistent glowing word... Another step...

This time I started to 'document' his adventures in this fictional format. Having the mod "Take Notes" installed also helps me to keep in character during play. (Even if i slows down progress while I make in character notes of the monsters he encounters that should be included in their bestiaries or situations that come up.)
I"m an old fart that made his bones in RPG's with paper, pencil and dice... I truly enjoy Skyrim et al, but they lack the versatility and flexibility of the old school. Countering if of course is there is no potentially vindictive dungeon master to contend with... Where I feel the lack most is the dialog trees... No ability to improv. Guess that will have to wait for Elder Scrolls, Holodeck Edition... <grin>
