About this image

What kind of professional game developer does this much of a lazy, stupid, half-assed job with level design? I suppose that thousands of years ago someone decided to build a tower with a massive chuck of rock going through it?

All over Skyrim and FO3 you find examples of absolutely ridiculous level design. Piles of rubble and debris where walls and ceiling are perfectly intact? Dungeons filled with lit candles even though those dungeons are supposed to have been abandoned for centuries? Complete structures with boulders going through the wall? Look at the Fletcher's shop in Solitude. The front door is a few feet to the left of the corner of the building. Then an alleyway and then the blacksmith's house. Yet inside the Fletcher's shop, you walk several feet to the right and enter his dining room which physically should be inside the blacksmith's house.

Bethesda does an absolutely horrid job designing their games which inevitably sell big anyway because we love open-world sandbox RPGs and strangely, no other game developer in the world is making games like this. Not even after a decade of TES's and FO's success. Are we in the Twilight Zone or something?
