I didn't see that twist coming... wow. But it makes so much sense... I really like Mirmulnir now. Can't wait to see what fate awaits the companions and Stan, something tells me he might end up joining them..
The skeletons part was amazing! I've never seen a fog like that in game.. I kind of have with vivid weathers but... wow. Really well written as usual Wade. Fairly intrigued to see what happens with Vaermina and Miriel.

None of that weak vanilla dragon stuff here

I still don't plan on very many actual dragons being a part of the story (probably just named ones) and they will all be uniquely powerful.

Back when I wrote this, I think I used the random mist from around Morthal and just consoled it in a bunch of times. Now I would use the fog in the Soul Cairn when you fight Durnehviir because it's super thick right away.

I'm glad I ran into this section before I did my Morthal campaign then. Thanks Wade!

Oh Stan - almost the hero coming in from the side at the last moment and making a good blow against the dragon! I see you are continuing to add new twists to the old tales with each new chapter. I was rather hoping Stan was going to kill it and become dragonborn ... but seems like the dragon had other plans and flew off to heal up. If they are having this much trouble killing a single dragon ... well Skyrim is in for some serious trouble considering how they start showing up like flies as time goes on. I like that the way you told it, however, seems more realistic. These are huge, ancient, and powerful beasts. A single person killing one solo seems very unrealistic - at least until that person comes fully into their power. Even then not an easy task.

Then comes the undead from the sea in an ocean of fog. That was well done and nice to see that Miriel can handle herself so well against those monsters. A good bit of adventure before they make it to the inn. I was very surprised Miriel is going off on her own on such a dangerous quest. Vaermina is a Prince and not to be toyed with ... I wonder how your take on it will go as far as the ending when Vaermina tempts the main character. I am also curious to see what happens with the dream spell ... as dream spells are Vaermina's forte and casting such could land them right in her lap so to speak.

Great images as well - nicely captured and went with the story very well. Looking forward to see what happens next.

Thank you for the reply. I do think that a dragon is a force to be reckoned with, not something that a couple of guards and a level 3 adventurer can defeat. I also think that the "named" dragons should be extremely powerful as they are the ones Alduin raised first (well the first dragon Mirmulir was never killed by the Blades according to the lore).

I believe there are 22 burial mounds in Skyrim so that would be the most that show up. The ones that are not "named" may be lesser dragons and easier to kill.

The fog and the undead from the sea was kind of a random last minute thought I had while taking them to Dawnstar.

Yep, I'm with Jon; the unusual twists you add to your stories are what I love - I never quite know what's going to happen in your tales!

Sorry, I`m late, but I need a little but more time for such a mount of words ( and pics)
You webbed your story in a very nice way. You made wonderful shots of a historic battle against this dragon, we all know (nice colors). One pic with two death fighters an a living friend, who wants to heal them (?) touched me.

The dusty pictures with the battle against the skeletons are outstanding ( oh, how I love the dust ) There is one with an arrow in the eye...great.. and another one with three skeletts with arrows in the head - lets me smile

The last part is interesting, because I want to know, how it will go on....much work -really fantastic

Thank you for taking the time to look at this. There were 40'ish images on this one so it is long

The dragon did bring a lot of death with it in this battle. Stan, Irileth, 3 Companions, and all of those guards still could not kill it the first time. The next battle will be important for sure.

I really enjoyed making that foggy scene and then the skeleton fight. I just layered a few hundred mist textures in the Creation Kit to make it happen

I did all of the images for the next part of the chapter already so I just need to finish writing it. I'm looking forward to it also

thanks again for your wonderful comments..

Thank you very much. Luckily there are only a few stories so far. I was two years late to the Nexus so catching up on stories has been interesting.
