      I know the feeling.

I was running a very weak machine, but after saving money every month, I was able to get this new one. Took me almost a year (things are pretty expensive this side of the globe), but it was worth it.

Other people's pictures made me so disappointed at my own computer it was painful.

Thank god I got this one now.

Yea it makes me extremely jealous seeing all the screenshots that look amazing and have these cool, cozy effects and lighting.

My computer can't even handle ENB's.....and even without them my game is still sort of laggy and I crash after awhile depending on what I'm doing.

Sometimes i'll just be in whiterun messing around for an hour and i'll crash, or ill be walking across skyrim.

I don't know why my computer runs skyrim so badly compared to when I first started modding my skyrim. I had no problems whatsoever, I had way more mods then than I do now.

I played at least for 2-3 hours without crashing. and I would walk literally everywhere. Then I had a few problems from this one mod that ruined my game completely so i completely uninstalled steam, NMM, LOOT and skyrim.

Now i'll crash after doing a few fights or simply walking around whiterun for 30-60 minutes.

The only difference I think might be causing it is that I don't have all the exact same mods, like wet and cold, i decided to use that now, but back then I didnt....(not using frostfall)

Are you using the same old saves or did you start a new game?

It might be that there are old scripts running in your current game, or perhaps a conflict of meshes and textures, perhaps even animations conflicting.

I had started different saves several times, and i even went into my games and deleted anything that was left over when I had un-installed steam and skyrim.

or at least I assume I did.

If it were an old save I would suggest you use one of those tools to clean up saves, but if it happens even on new saves, it most certainly is a conflict. I learned that textures and meshes can also conflict with each other and cause CTD.

Past year I was having a lot of CTD problems even in new games. I uninstalled Skyrim, then reinstalled without mods and made Steam run a game cache/files verification. I played the game without mods to make sure it was fine and it ran smoothly for hours, then I got out of the game and started to install my favorite mods one by one again.

I found out that some landscape overhauls (textures and meshes) were conflicting, so I had to choose some to keep and the others were abandoned.

Different animations might also conflict, if a set has their own behaviour file and then you install a new one with another behaviour file and let it overwrite the older. Even running FNIS, it can cause CTDs due to, I believe, conflicting information within the behaviour files.

The most common causes for CTDs, though, are when Skyrim is demanding more memory or CPU than a system can handle (a combination of too many scripted mods, plus textures, plus meshes with a lot of polygons - like Static Mesh Improvement or Touched By Dibella body replacer), when then the system forces a shutdown of the applicaton to recover memory and cpu needed for priority processes that are vital for the system.
