And there it is! Ozymandias, written by Percy Shelley, husband to Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein, if my previous clue was too convoluted... XD But what do you expect, I've been writing too many puzzles! Kudos to you and ChavezAeries though, I'm glad it sparked a little interest.
Very close, I think you're thinking of the defaced statue in Ithilien whose head wore a crown of flowers, but whereas that preceded the return of the King, with this I was considering more his downfall, left anonymous to be entombed by the forest. A good guess though, I appreciate it!
Yaaa, that was what I was thinking of! Where Sam goes: "Look Frodo, the kings got a crown again."
Hmm... An anonymous King of kings... sounds like something they'd have in Conan.
But, so wait, is it something within LotR, or is it just the concept that was close? Because I just can't think of any forgotten kings who's past and deeds were swallowed up by nature.. except maybe the Witch King at the end of the battle of Pelenor.
Now that I'm onto this I can't just give it one go and then never know the answer lol
Uh oh, I like puzzles too much to give you the answer without one more hint - it has more in common with Frankenstein than the Lord of the Rings, although only by marriage. Oh, and it's a poem. Good luck!
