D&D Campaign - World of Urun
D&D Campaign Character - Raven, Renegade Mage (Illusionist)/Master-Assassin.
Powerful relics are a rare commodity in the world of Urun…One such item has fallen into the hands of a very capable illusionist-assassin that goes by the alias of Raven. Through her knowledge of the arcane, and several years of research, Raven has determined that the ancient mask originates from the land of Varsan, an intriguing country that is no stranger to unique magics and shadow dwellers. Raven also learned that this mask was once owned by a renowned and capable worshipper of the ancient goddess, Nekhbet, herself. This particular high-priestess named, Akilah, possessed the mask for nearly four decades before she died. Immediately after her death, the mask was seemingly lost. Nearly a century had passed until the mask once again surfaced and fell into human hands. The mask has had countless owners over the following centuries, and it’s most recent owner, Raven, has possessed it for the past nine years. The mask still holds many unlearned secrets, and Raven has managed to decipher only a select few over the years. The powers that she has unlocked are as follows:
1) The mask gives the wearer the ability to understand, speak, and read any language.
2) The wearer’s vision is dramatically increased in distance and clarity. Also, the wearer’s ability to see at night is greatly improved.
3) The wearer’s ability to listen, spot something, and search, are greatly improved.
4) The wearer has increased resistances to mind affecting spells and effects.
5) The wearer moves faster than normal, and is harder to strike in melee or ranged combat. (Initiative and Armor Class are improved).
6) The wearer is much harder to spot/detect, and makes very little sound when moving or running.
7) The wearer gains the ability to shape change into a raven for up to six hours, each day. (Carried gear also transforms with the wearer).
*The mask has other powers, but they are only usable by a priest or priestess. Unfortunately, Raven, is not a priest classed character.**
“If you manage to spot Raven approaching you, then consider yourself fortunate. Why? Because you get to lay eyes on that beauty before she kills you.”
-Nodan, the Unlucky
