Love to see your two groups together in the story as they are off an their own adventures.
Can't wait for the next part!!!
It is an interesting challenge to have both groups in a chapter, switching from one adventure to the other, really glad you like seeing them together in the story
Have been putting my ideas in order for that next part ^^
The telling of the tale as they sat and ate, the child watching, listening, the khajiit speak all adds so much to these tales, makes you feel that you walk along with them as you describe the land, the sounds, the smells. Like the laugh on the wind, make me image the time of old when each element was believed to be alive part of the world around us and you bring that out in your tales along with that warmth of spirit and love your char have for what is around them and for each other.
Wonderful tale, love how they two groups look to be on the same path, wondering where this will take them but knowing it will sure to be an adventure .....truly beautiful shots... look forward to the next chapter
I am really glad all those details of that time spent in the inn and those sounds and smells heard among river valley and forest make you feel like you are sitting around the table with the scout or following the thief on her journey. I do like those old beliefs on the elements in nature being alive or that all things in nature have a spirit, I like to bring those into the tale, warms my heart that you see that warmth of spirit and love my chars have for what is around them and each other.
Thanks bunches, Shelley, their paths are certainly drawing ever closer, one city drawing both groups to it, they wonder too what will happen when they meet, you are right that adventure is sure to ensue. Glad you found the shots so beautiful, I look forward to share the next part of their adventures
A heart warming scene with Akhaz'iir and Mila and the story of his time at High Hrothgar, which indeed makes for some epic tale telling - adults as well as kids. Sounds like the Jarl was wise in his hesitant approval, wanting to know his city won't be attacked while busy trying to manage a dragon. A good Jarl always looking out for his people.
Enjoyed their playful banter (Khajiits and their love of shiney trinkets) and the way you made the market come alive with the "scents" and imagery of your words. I like to sometimes imagine what it is like when I go through a markey in the game. To spend a moment to think about it instead of always just racing through. The images are also great and you know how I like that one of Aela getting a little drunk at the Inn. She deserves a little rest though - she is a fierce one indeed as Grim shall soon discover.
Then we have Edrelle and her friends on their journey. I bet Sandy would have totally approved of Edrelles little cold water prank on Dimitri - very mischievous indeed. I wonder if that odd sound on the wind was just natural of if there was something actually laughing along with them ... someone following them perhaps. But perhaps it was just the wind.
Some more great images with Edrelle and my favorite from her tale is the low angle shot of her entering solitude with her blade looking so large and sharp. A very cool perspective in that shot. It was nice how you made the city come alive with the smell of burning wood, the wind blowing the banners, the childrens laughter and the smiths anvil and a creaking sign.
So seems like they are seeking the dragonborn's sister ... and perhaps they will meet up in Solitude if fate is kind. Interesting how Tacita has flashbacks now and then, although not unexpected for a warrior like herself with some dark memories of the past.
Wonderful tale and images, always enjoy your friendly tales of loyal friends and their adventures together!
I am happy you found that scene with Mila heart warming, he had quite the tale to share with her, his sister and friend did also enjoy his telling. Jarl Baalgruf is a careful one, trying to make sure the war brewing around the city does not make it to its walls. He did always strike me as a good Jarl with that care for his people.
Very glad you enjoyed that playful banter (Ma'Kriiva is one with a particular fondness for those trinkets) and that description of the market, two parts I enjoyed writing, I do like little details as you know. I do the same sometimes, taking the time to wander around and imagine myself in a place among its smells and sounds. Good to hear you found the images great as well, I do indeed know you are fond of that one of Aela having had more than a few tankards of mead. She has earned so respite after watching out for the group on that long day - fierceness is certainly something that she does not lack
I am glad that she would have approved of that bit of mischief from Edrelle along their journey - her way of keeping their spirits up. Perhaps that sound on the wind is a clue of someone who follows them or perhaps not, the wind can make quite the odd noises, glad I have you curious about it
I tend to try a few different angles for a shot and I thought that low angle worked well with that play of perspective with her blade, really glad it is your favorite from her tale. That part with the smell of the burning wood came from that smell drifting through my neighborhood as I has shoveling snow, was quite inspired by the city in that moment I guess, it is a great compliment that you think I made the city come alive.
They are getting a clearer picture of their once very mysterious khajiit ... one does hope that fate will be kind, the scout is heading the right direction. I like to slowly reveal her past through those flashbacks, that memory was one of her darker ones from when she was a soldier.
Thank you very much, Jonathan, puts a smile on my face that you always enjoy my tales of my kind sorts and their good friends sharing adventures
It was nice to catch up with Akhaz'iir and co (and off that frigid old rock, the Throat of The World this time too). I think they've got quite the task before them to get Ulfric and Tullius to see common ground in the face of a greater threat. Luckily with Akhaz'iir's silver tongue I think they've got a good ambassador to plead their case. And with Aela's continued presence they've got some muscle behind them if things get tense. I loved how he had time to spend telling Mila a story, even tired as he was after such an epic journey so far. He shares a lot of good hearted qualities with Nataly's own Dragonborn, Dannee I think.
So Edrelle and co close in on Akhaz'iir and his sister. The words of the bard not leading them directly to the Khajiit party, but at least pointing them in the direction of Jordis who might be able to help. I found the scene where Tacita remembered the bandit incident was harrowing; what awful trauma she went through and it obviously still haunts her somewhat even now. Nice that Edrelle senses her silent friend's pain and is there for her.
It'll be interesting to see how this all comes together!! Beautifully done as always dear and spectacular images to accompany your incredible writing.
Glad you like following Akhaz'ii and co once more (they certainly stayed on that great peak for a while ;-) ). From facing dragons to facing two sides with no love for each other things are certainly not getting easier for them. I guess he does have a way of making people see the wisdom in his words, perhaps he will do well in convincing them indeed. Aela is sure to make sure neither side gets too rowdy when they meet to keep her friends safe, not many would risk arguing with her. Akhaz'iir remembers his mother sharing tales with him even after a hard day so he likes to share the same with others even when a little weary. I am sure Dannee and Akhaz'iir would find they share similar qualities, they both have big hearts for sure.
Edrelle and her friends are certainly nearer to what answers Dar'Akshara may have. Lisette did try to help them the best she could by pointing them to Jordis, we will have to see what she will think of their questions. I am very glad that the scene painted by Tacita's memories had a harrowing feeling to it, was trying to convey how traumatic it was, that battle in which she lost much. Edrelle helped quite a bit in lessening the pain she felt from those memories by being there for her in the past and in their current adventures, they have quite a bond of friendship.
I am still figuring out exactly how it will all come together myself Thanks a bunch, dear Jess, glad my shots for this chapter fit my writing ^^
It is very cool to see Edrelle and Akhaz'iir tales slowly merging together! I've missed the adventures of Akhaz'iir and his team and now it is wonderful to see that they continue their perilous journey to end Alduin's menace. Surely trying bitter enemies make a peace even if temporary is a hell of a task, not to mention that Akhaz'iir has to persuade Alduin's dragon to give up the location of shady dragon... at least his friends and sister are with him and will never step back, supporting him! Also loved the scenes of Akhaz'iir and little Mila, surely scout holds a soft place in heart for kids, fulfilling his promise to tell little girl about his adventures, even if she missed a big part of it due to her desire to sleep. Very touching momets!
And now Edrelle, with the help of lovely bard has discovered that she needs to seek Akhaz'iir's sister for the clues of information she needs... too bad that they yet to catch up with each other yet, but I believe they will meet at some point. Edrelle and Dimitri moment with water was lovely, I love their playful and loving relationship very much. And I've greatly enjoyed the beautiful and poetic descriptions of heroes surroundings.
I will be looking forward for continuation and thank you very much for sharing your awesome work!
Their paths are certainly very near now, glad you find it cool to see that. Had been thinking of starting his tale again for a while but I wanted to get to a certain point in Edrelle's tale before I did, missed Akhaz'iir and his team as well. The scout does have quite the task in getting imperials and stormcloaks to even speak to each other, but nothing in his fight against Alduin has not been without some obstacle, getting a dragon to speak is its own unique challenge for sure. He is lucky to have his friends and sister at his side to face things with him. Really glad you like those scenes with Mila, the scout does have a soft place in his heart for that curiosity of kids, being happy to share a bit of his tale before sleep called her.
The mysterious khajiit is becoming a little less mysterious it seems, Lisette has been an useful ally for the group, having helped them a few times before, it is unfortunate that Akhaz'iir and his companions are still some ways away, with the path of they scout leading them to Solitude it is very possible they will, unless Edrelle and her friends leave the city. I had some fun writing that moment with the drop of water, having that bit of Edrelle's playful side appear, she does like to lightheartedly tease those she holds dear and luckily the archer has a good sense of humor to match. I am glad you enjoyed those descriptions of their surroundings very much. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, I look forward to sharing the next chapter as ever
very nice pictures and story
