Sweet and almost mournful "happy-time" childhood memories....but of course it will NOT last....

Lord Naarifin?! He is the filthy, evil b*stard who sacked (or, rather, WILL sack) the Imperial City during the Great War, with his victorious Thalmor forces causing great and horrific atrocities amongst the City's defenceless populace.
When the absent Titus Mede finally retook the City, wreaking great vengeance upon the Thalmor forces, Naarfin's mutilated carcass was strung high up to rot on the White-Gold Tower for all to see.
HE is Ambrosia's "patron" ? Oh, I don't like this ONE little bit!

There are MANY ancient traditions concerning NOT disturbing and moving a person's remains after burial, as it is often considered tantamount to desecrating a grave.

That is probably a bit of what Ambrosia might have instinctively felt, upon seeing her mother's remains brought to her thusly, however apparently well-meaning that gesture might have been.

When does Ambrosia start growing her hair long, and when does it start to show it's characteristic blue streaks?^^

    Endorsed.
Warm thanks, Shelley, and cheers, dear!

Beautiful chapter Shelley. I love how with the simply luxuries of life the Thalmor were able to tempt the sweet innocent child Ambrosia into letting them 'care' for her. Tempting her with luxurious food and silks and comfortable bedding they were able to get past her natural fear and dislike for them. However in trying so hard to please her, Lord Naarifin maybe slipped up a little by moving her mother's bones to the Thalmor headquarters rather than leaving her be. I suspect she'd have appreciated being allowed to go and visit her mother's grave out in the wilds a few times a year rather than have her so disturbed.

I love how you're developing this (and providing some fantastic explanations for how she became the warrior she is today).

Awesome story and great shots! Little Ambrosia looks adorable!
I've just read chapter two and this one and decided to post a comment here. Ambrosia is mesmerizing character and it is great to know her childhood story of how she grew up to become a woman she is today. when Thalmor captured her, it was dreadful, but it seems that they are planning something... I would never believe in their kindness, so most likely they ant to use Ambrosia for something while trying to make her believe they wish her happiness.
It was sad moment with her mother and it did remind Ambrosia that Thalmor might be up to no good, so she should be vigilant! I will be looking forward for continuation!

Fascinating to learn that for at least a short period in her life she had at least some amount of happiness among the Thalmor.
So wrong of them to move her Mother without asking her about it. It seems that offense however opened her eyes to the fact that they wanted her for something.
I am loving this Shelley! As Ambrosia is one of my most favorite characters on the Nexus it is wonderful to learn her backstory!
    Brilliant work!

It is quite the unusual situation that lead her to train and live among those that her mother had always warned her about, the promise to be spared outweighing that distrust in one still young. An odd world she lived in, able to go where she wanted but never truly free as watchful eyes were always near though this she did not see in a time where she found a measure of happiness. At least the lesson she learned about never showing her weakness served her well later on. It is good though that she began to wonder why they showed her such kindness, wondering what it was that they wanted from her, her mother taught her well to suspect such things. Wonderful work, Shelley

Distrust..... something that a child easily forgets when they are happy. But we are talking about Ambrosia, and though she may be happy, she always remembers the lessons from her mother.
Know your enemy and playing along with their attempts to please her she sees them for what they truly are.

Great shots to continue the story....... your doing an excellent job in filling us in on her background and giving us just enough to tease us with more.

    Beautiful and exciting work Love

I've just read all 3 of these chapters & was immediately drawn into the whole thing, wonderful shots & creative story telling to accompany them, excellent work Heaven Ambrosia has to be the best assassin ever! So small & pretty, but fearlessly deadly, I love your view of her & what kind of person you wan't her to be perceived as. I'll be tracking this Fine job!
