I must say when you come back you come back with both barrels! I have catching up to do!
Thanks my dear!
I did know a little about thier living cities and walking tress but did not know about their version of the Wild Hunt (which I at first thought related to Hircine but after reading UESP on Bosmer, Wild Hunt, Earthbones, and Yffre I know now differently). All very cool and dark. No wonder you liked this! You stayed very closely to lore from what I read and I imagine you really enjoyed it as the Wild Hunt has a fearsome and dark price to pay for its power. I also really enjoyed learning about Yffre and how he created the first greens and plants of the world out of chaos and stabilized things. Yet the Bosmer have the ability to return to that chaos by calling the hunt. Also of interest is that it is the Wild Hunt that brings many of the monsters to Nirn - left over after the hunt if not eatin in the cannibalistic orgy that follows.
All in all a truly wicked and cool chapter as I got to learn some new stuff all the while wrapped inside of one of your intriguing tales. Pooe Stardir and Allenel - forced apart by truly desparate times. Lost to madness in the hunt it is the ultimate sacrifice to save their clans ... and her father and daughter. Very bittersweet having husband and wife stay together and die together.
A very moving and tragic story. Some great visials as well - love the close up of the werewolf howling!
I didn't know a lot about the Bosmer past and I learned most of it while researching for this story, but I have played Bosmer a few times. I think i've played just about every race now (with the exception of Khajiit - I just don't gel with giant humanoid cats running around the world). They have a very interesting culture I think and in some ways remind me of the Dalish from DA. I guess that's why I returned to Skyrim with a Bosmer this time around... an easy transition from DAI to Skryim!
Anyway, glad you enjoyed it and I thought you would (even though it's not the Wild Hunt you're used to, it's still fascinating).
Thanks hon.
It might happen one day... you never know what! Thanks hon.
Now if you will excuse me, my cat has a sudden desire to hunt down some Thalmor, and roast them slow.
Well off to the next chapter...that i have a feeling that i'll be crying like baby over !
Don't cry! Finayla still lives and can keep on the legacy of her brave parents!
It was such powerful, intense and sad scene filled with desperation when Allenel told her husband that it all depends on her, and her ability to call upon the Wild Hunt, so it could give other clans extra time to flee from the Thalmor. It is devastating to know that Finayla will grow not only without her mother but without her father too, who had made his choice to stay with his beloved wife... which would likely mean certain death to him, since I doubt she will recognize him in her other form.
So Finayla will be left only with her grandfather who will tell her one day about her heroic parents and how they gave up their lives for the good of other clans and their kid...
Off to the next chapter!
I felt mostly sad for Erandas who had to watch his daughter head off to die, and of course for Finayla who as you noted, would be left to grow up without her mother and father. Still at least she has Erandas to care for her.
