   The decayed/undead dragon concept art in the Dark Souls Design Works has a decent palette if you are going for that whole damaged/decomposing look.

   There are much higher resolutions of this; ingame the palette was very solid and considering you are a Souls fan, I'd think you might like this.

   You can alwas add little holes somewhere on his body to make it looks as if larvae were in its carcass (maybe one of the eyes, many little holes). jaw is a good place to put bubbles of pus. only if you were so much dedicated to Light oriented themes. /casts purge
