The annual High Hrothgar marathon which, to be honest was only held once.
The task was to run up to High Hrothgar and then down again. The winner got
a free bottle of Black-Briar mead at Vilemyr inn.

The owner of Vilemyr inn had intended it as a publicity stunt for the tavern, but
it never caught on. His marketing ideas was as lousy as his prices.

Someone took the time and effort and counted the steps. There are nowhere near 7,000 steps in the game. He counted 732 visible step-like objects (tiered, flat platforms) on the way to High Hrothgar.
